National League North

Gloucester City 0-4 Hereford (I can dream right?)

Well, it may not have been the stuff of dreams but it was still an away win! Anyway, the results went into the initial post a few hours ago and the table has since been worked out as well.

I was able to calculate the bonus points a bit earlier, at least: the 'wildcard' fixtures were #1 and #12 so two people got the Spurs scoreline spot on for two bonus points each, while a different duo managed the right outcome from Bramall Lane yesterday to claim a single extra point apiece. There'll be two more 'wildcard' matches next week, but none in the following round.

We've got a title race on our hands again as top scorer ultimo closes the gap on leader Stinky back to just 5 points. Rory skyrockets up to the third place as next best performer, whilst even seph closed the gap to Pete by a point. There's a clear divide between the five participants who got at least one exact score and the five who are stuck in single figures.

Not going to go through the other 18 matches individually but wins for Saints, Bolton and Celtic proved especially fruitful alongside a score draw at The Shay whereas Cov's romp at The Stadium of Light caught almost everyone out. Do let me know if you think I've got any of your scores wrong as these double rounds require more focus than regular ones. I'm not typing this from my own place, I'm more full of food and alcohol than usual and at the start of the season I was making mistakes in 'normal' weeks.

Two new sets of 10 will appear at the top of the thread soon. Happy New Year, folks.

Scottish League Two

Forfar Athletic 4-5 East Fife

Thanks for going along with that scoreline for what was a last-minute addition to the card, albeit in the other direction from my guess. Sadly rather than a nine-goal thriller, it was instead one of a few stalemates this time out. At least with a quarter of the matches being from Scotland, all of our selections up there survived the weather. Unfortunately the southernmost fixture was called off, but as someone who now lives a 10-minute walk from the edge of mainland Wales, I can vouch for the Celtic fringe being especially windswept, cold and wet this time of year so perhaps I shouldn't have risked a Cornish game after all.

Anyway, the results went into the opening post last night and the table was updated right afterwards. As if to show the importance of the glut of domestic football in the festive season, Stinky – who looked like running away with the title a fortnight ago – has already relinquished the lead after a sub-par performance, but it still took a top-scorer performance from ultimo to topple him. In the middle of the standings, Tilde once more narrowly overtakes Vegeta, and while there's no further movement, Pete is again a point closer to last place than before.

The 'wildcard' fixtures were #6 and #11: the latter was at Anfield where everybody got the right result but not the 4-2 final score, which doesn't too much in terms of competition but it's nice for getting the average scoring haul up across the board. The former at Darlo was more of a mixed bag, with four participants getting it spot on to claim a pair of genuinely useful bonus points apiece.

Further afield, other notable results included: four home wins in the EPL on Saturday that were generally good for one-pointers, alongside a few more in Scottish League One and English League Two. Reverses for the Addicks, Rams and Cards caught a few people out, but the two Scots top-flight outcomes from yesterday largely proved fruiftul.

A new set of 21 will appear in the original post shortly, to make up for this past round having only 19 in the end. Sorry for lateness on this blurb. Then the rest of the month will be back to *relative* normality, I promise.
