For one, don’t buy for a second that the first time it ever happened just happened to be in a crowded public place. Also, what relevance is there in them being married almost 30 years? Is there a certain amount of time in a marriage when you get the green light to give your Mrs a slap? Is it more acceptable the longer you’ve been married or some shit? As expected, the sad cunts are out in force defending it. “But she hit him first”. As if that makes it all OK. No doubt she’s in the wrong as well. Domestic violence is bad whoever is doing it. But people trotting out the self defence shite can fuck right off. There’s no way 200lbs+ of roidy Dana felt under threat or in danger to where he had to use physical force against his 120lb or whatever she is wife. His go-to reaction wasn’t to restrain her or de-escalate the situation, it was to immediately slap her round the face twice. Something tells me they’re both telling porkies saying it’s never happened before. He was way too comfortable with letting the hands fly. From fans to journalists to fighters themselves falling over themselves to go on social media to defend it. Genuinely seems like there are big sections of the MMA community who fantasise about beating women and live vicariously through cases like this. Or even worse, they actually do it themselves so identify and feel the need to try to justify it. It’s so fucking pathetic but sadly not surprising at all. Jamahal Hill and Kevin Lee haven’t come across well with their comments on it. And most disappointing for me was Derek Brunson trying to downplay it and actually say Dana should simply “sit out two events” and be given a second chance. I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea but Ariel Helwani and Luke Thomas had a lot to say on it and at least someone’s speaking sense and not walking on eggshells in fear of old egghead himself.
