Fight day then. Anyone ordered this? I wasn’t gonna but my brother’s coming over so I’ve bit the bullet and bought it. Didn’t really wanna give DAZN any money but sod it.

Danny DeVito in the middle there.

Hoping Eubank goes 2-0, and ideally more decisively this time. A stoppage would be nice. I can see it going the distance again though. Not sure they can match the electricity and excitement of the April fight. I still think this should’ve been a ‘one and done’ thing. Not like it’s a title fight or anything. It’s a novelty grudge match built off the nostalgia of their Dads rivalry. Which is absolutely fine. There’s room for a fight like that in Boxing. But I think fights like that are better as a one-off thing myself. Whatever. I’m watching so it’s worked on me.

Seen a lot of people commenting that the buildup has been a bit quiet this time and it definitely has. I think that’s partly because people just got their fill of it last time. People who wanted their little ‘Eubank vs Benn’ nostalgia fix came out of that first fight satisfied. I think it’s also partly that the ‘beef’ isn’t there quite like it was the first time. They’re still bickering back and forth but, while they’d probably never admit it, I think they had to have gained some level of respect for each other after that first fight. The biggest factor in why the buzz around this rematch is a bit muted though, is probably because it doesn’t have the Eubank Sr vs Eubank Jr - will they reconcile or won’t they? - factor. That moment when Sr stepped out of the car last time and they finally reunited was the highlight of the whole rivalry and one of the best Boxing moments of the year. This fight doesn’t have any of that so what we’re left with is just Jr repeatedly calling Hearn a scumbag again and Conor trying to reheat a grudge that’s lost a fair bit of steam.

Got Eubank on points again.

That was actually sad to watch. Eubank looked spent. Don’t know what he was alluding to in the post-fight interview about something he’d been dealing with but for this fight to be so drastically different to the first one and for him to look so flat, it’s like he got old overnight. Whether it was the weight draining finally catching up to him, age, the first fight taking too much out of him or what, he just looked done here. Benn did look better but the non-stop arse licking from the DAZN lot was a bit much for me. Eubank offered no resistance and was almost a stationary target from the first round on. Benn would’ve had to go out of his way to somehow lose to this version of him. And he still couldn’t get Eubank out of there. Almost did in the last round, but couldn’t close the show.

Eubank absolutely a spent force out there

It wasn't so much that Benn was the better man by tactics or by force or anything like that, even though that makes me seem like I'm talking like an idiot, it was that Eubank was in Ian Beale mode out there, he had nothing left!

Didn't see the fight, only the highlights, but this seems more like 1 last big payday for Eubank Jr to take. And he just went through the motions. Why was a rematch in order in the first place. Eubank won it pretty convincingly last time, and that was only 6 months ago. I saw tickets were going for £35 this week because they were not selling well.

Boxing is still pretty shady and pretty much rigged until the chosen fighter wins, see Anthony Crolla v Darleys Perez or Tony Bellew v Isaac Chilemba. All Matchroom fighters. I see Benn is now being touted for a world title fight...because he beat an old middleweight who has never been a world champion. Hearn in the post fight interview banging on about Benn being an inspiration. He was down & out last year, selling all his possessions to survive... He's a fucking drugs cheat. He was banned for failing two drug tests. They pedal so much shit to try and change the narrative, it's beyond ridiculous now. What next, getting Joshua in the ring with a YouTuber?!

I feel like the most obvious and natural and funny turn for this whole saga to take now is for Conor Benn to fail another drug test.

Tony Bellew would still find a reason to defend him.

Dave Allen was the only one on the broadcast actually just being honest

“Conor Benn, I can’t take nothing away from him, he got the job done. Well done, fair play. He lost to a faded Eubank, and then he just beat a shot to bits one. He’s not 147 champion elect on the back of that. I don’t think Conor Benn’s a fantastic boxer. 1990 Nigel Benn would’ve flattened Chris Eubank Jr in one round tonight. That’s the honest truth. It’s not unfair (comparison) when Eddie Hearn’s saying this man’s gonna go to 147 and smash everyone to bits…he’s not that good. I’m just telling things how I see it. There’s no point me standing here and saying it was amazing, it weren’t. What we saw in there tonight weren’t world class boxing, not even close. Wasn’t even close. And they’re saying he’s 147 elect champion? Not even close to being world title level. It was poor. Both of them weren’t great. Eubank was terrible, Benn didn’t do anything amazing he just beat the shell of an old man up.”

And he was saying this while stood next to Adam Catterall, Spencer Oliver and GAD. All of them awkwardly biting their lip and clearly wishing Allen would just shut up because what he was saying wasn’t fitting with the Matchroom/Hearn ‘Conor Benn is the second coming’ narrative they were pushing all night. Catterall especially kept trying to cut Allen off and spin it back to a pro-Conor arselickfest but Dave wasn’t having it.

I hate the 'its a fix' crowd because they seem to come out after every big fight but I can't help but smell something fishy here. The difference in Eubank in the 2 fights was shocking.

Trilogy fight in 2026 after Benn fails to win World Tittle.

Well it didn't disappoint in the slightest it's astonishing once again it lasted all 12 rounds going to the judges once again that just doesn't seem possible, Connor took every round bar one at a push two which shocked me most with how back and forth that first went.

Great amount of respect between both sides with eubank Jr saying he's had some personal things that he's going to deal with but not giving excuses and trying to make it about him but giving Conor respect and it is about him as the winner.

Connor winning is genuinely what I wanted before hand but it's one a piece and this should be done once more as the trilogy to close the book because these two together are money I don't think it's possible for them to have a dull fight if you paired them 100 times.

God I'm happy I watched both as a man openly admitting I'm not a fan of boxing really this is such a exception.

Eubank is either shot or dead at the weight (probably both)

A third fight really isn't needed.
