Makhmudov is a big unit and trying to bash up that big medicine ball head of his would seem to be folly. If Tyson has the gastank himself these days he should be able to tire him put pretty quick. jimufctna24 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 IIRC, Makhmudov was lit up and rocked multiple times during his loss to the Italian bloke a few years ago. If Fury performs similarly to how he did in the Ngannou bout, I wouldn't rule out a Makhmudov win. However, if Fury shows up in half decent shape, I suspect he will cruise to a points victory or score a late stoppage. Fury's career as a top heavyweight is probably on borrowed though. He's 37, and the weight gain/loss coupled with the wars he's endured will have aged his body further. Quote

I thought Riakhpore looked good against TKV. I also thought the stoppage was at a good point. TKV was a couple of shots from getting hurt. Benn looked shite against Prograis. No pop in his shots since he isn't on the gas. The Fury fight was boring as fuck. A-Mak was just too slow and got slower as the fight went on. Fury v AJ might happen but I'm not convinced. Quote

A callout and then a load of tedious back and forth about who’s the ‘A-Side’ and who’s gonna dance to whose tune in the negotiations. It might happen. There’s probably a better chance of it now they’re both coming to the end of their careers and there aren’t as many options for big fights. It’s way late but it’s still gonna be a big money spinner. But this little interaction made me think the egos are gonna stop it from happening again. Had to laugh at Turki and his jowly, beardless face earlier in the night, spoiling the “big surprise” they all kept going on about and outright saying it was AJ vs Fury. Then it turns out to be a load of bollocks, no actual deal is in place and it was all just designed to put pressure on AJ and Hearn. Just a big waste of everyone’s time. Fury didn’t look very good but got the job done and he had been out a while so whatever. And Benn made a right meal of decisioning a Prograis who looked barely mobile for significant spells of the fight. 15 mil well spent there. Quote

I wonder if the callout was an attempt to persuade Joshua and Hearn to skip the tune-up fight. Regardless, I have to agree that the back and forth was tedious. Quote
