NeverYield Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Well that little back and forth at the end between Fury and Joshua made any recent pro wrestling booking look brilliant.. What a load of rubbish haha. Quote

Paid Members Egg Shen Posted April 12 Author Paid Members Posted April 12 (edited) ...but yeah, bizarre scenes. When Turki teased an annoucement earlier in the night, I though they were perhaps gonna drop the poster and reveal a date. What actually happened was a clunky, unplanned mess. AJ had to expect it, but he wasn't up for playing along. There was an interview later with AJ and Anna Woolhouse where AJ seemed abit overwhelmed, guy looked like he was about to burst into tears. The actual fight showed Tyson still has something left. Makhmudov was piss poor and spoiled all night, but Fury showed enough in between all the mess to prove it's still there. An AJ fight would look completely different. The big Russian lump gave him rounds though so it probably served as a good warmup. Not a great spectacle though. The Benn thing was a bit of a disaster for me. He got through it, he won comfortably, but Benn's stock has fallen from that. Prograis was crafty enough to fiddle his way through it, but Benn is levels below where they try to justify him being. It might be best to just cash him out and throw him in with a Champion whilst he's still undefeated. He's gonna lose on his way there otherwise. Edited April 12 by Egg Shen Quote
NeverYield Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Yeah all a bit strange wasn't it. I thought the production of the whole night was top tier, but the fights were all a bit underwhelming, favourite fight of the night for me was Huni vs Clarke. TKV and Riakphore was horrible to watch, Conor Benn is just 15million down the toilet really isn't he, I've never rated Benn from the jump, horrible attitude, horrible fighter, and if his name was Conor Jones no one would even look twice at him. Tyson done what he needed to do against a largely spoily Makhmudov, he also took a few fairly decent shots, and did look good at times. I can't really think about Fury and AJ for too long without getting annoyed as the fact they didn't fight years ago is just ridiculous. I'll still watch it should they fight but the whole things a bit of a lost cause now. Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted April 19 Paid Members Posted April 19 Matchroom need to put Whittaker in with someone decent. That told us nothing again. Quote
NeverYield Posted April 19 Posted April 19 100% absolute waste of time, and I find his showmanship against these opponents who so clearly aren't his level galling, and cringey. I get he's trying to sell himself, and maybe be polarising but it's just not my cup of tea, can actually start to turn you off someone. Told us absolutely nothing that. Dreadful card all round, Quote

Paid Members Egg Shen Posted April 21 Author Paid Members Posted April 21 It also lost the co-main event leading up. I think Whittaker was thrown on last minute to try and justify keeping the card on. Agree 100% with the matchmaking going forward though, no more bullshit. Eddie Hearn said they are rebuilding him, but Whittakers the kind of fighter I feel will only get any kind of credibility when he starts beating good opponents. The fans don't want to see knockovers because they don't like him 😄 Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted April 21 Paid Members Posted April 21 Lawrence Okolie has popped dirty for the fight this Saturday against Tony Yoka. What was he taking, hug serum. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted April 21 Author Paid Members Posted April 21 Probably. Okolie's already put something out citing injuries, so he's gonna use the rehab'ing defence. Was actually gonna watch that Yoka fight as well. Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted April 21 Paid Members Posted April 21 Rumour that Joe Joyce is replacing him but only a rumour at this point. Quote
jimufctna24 Posted April 21 Posted April 21 The Human Octopus and Keith Laird Jr (Gallagher) are a match made in hell. Quote

We don't need to see that. I've also seen Martin Bakole throw his hand up. At this point, Bakole just takes last minute fights to save having to put himself through an actual camp, lazy fucker. Quote
