A really absorbing fight to watch. This reminded me of Inoue's first fight with Donaire. Really cagey start but Inoue working him out in the end, but Nakatani definitely having his moments. If they have a rematch I think Inoue will stop him, because he's already got the data.

Yes I really enjoyed that, cagey because at that level there is no room for error, is so much better to watch than when people are just being negative, these two were studying each other hard, Inoue really started to close in on Nakatani who at times I felt gave Inoue a bit tooo much respect, but then Nakatani began to come into his own and claw it back a bit. Great fight, Inoue's 11th round was massive for him, I would definitely like to see them run it back, and I agree Inoue would likely stop him.

Great respect for both of them, and for the Japanese boxing fans cramming into the stadium early doors, right from the 2nd undercard bout, and whilst the fight was taking place there was no eyes anywhere else but the two combatants in the ring. Brilliant stuff all round.

100% great fight, Connor Benn will swerve Walker like the plague.

Benavidez & Zurdo was a cracker aswell, Benavidez was right on form, lethal! Enjoyed the fights leading up to it too.

Love Benavidez. What a beast. The finish was a thing of beauty but scary at the same time to see Ramirez eat that many flush shots in one blistering flurry. Just brutal stuff.

No wonder Canelo didn’t want any and avoided Benavidez like the plague.

I missed the Walker vs Eggington fight. What channel/stream was that on?

I love that Benavidez is saying he’s up for the Jai Opetaia fight but that he’s got no interest in fighting for a Zuffa belt. Basically means the fight won’t happen but fuck Zuffa. I hope Benavidez sticks to his guns.

Actually wish Adam Smith would’ve just sat that out, shut the fuck up for two minutes and never growled over the whole thing but you can’t have everything in life.

😄

Adam Smith comes across as a lovely bloke, but he was far better suited to presenting Ringside on Sky Sports. He's comical at times as a commentator, albeit unintentionally, but otherwise dreadful.

I was genuinely happy when Smith came back from his illness, was a lovely story. Now i'd wish he'd just fuck off again. His "THE GLOBAL HOME OF BOXING" drives me nuts. We've already aware of it Adam, we're watching.

The story that did the rounds at the time, which is probably bollocks in retrospect, was that Smith also had a gambling problem. One rumour was that he lost a ton of money betting on Klitschko to beat Joshua, a fight he commentated on.

Imagine him growling on about "respect" and "great nights for the sport", while secretly seething about being 50k in the hole.

That Adam Smith bingo is comical 🤣, I remember the Jim Watt one.

Can you imagine the Adam Smith drinking game, taking a shot everytime he brought up "the respect", "there's the respect" is his main one, but my god he was absolutely spamming respect based chat in the Inoue-Nakatani fight.

Talking of commentators one of my favourite for his sheer wordsmithery is Ronald McIntosh, he's genuinely had me in fits of laughter with his choice of wording over the years.

Anyway, onto Wardley and Dubois I genuinely think Wardley is gonna do it.

You know Ron's engine is nearly firing at full capacity when he starts to bring out the "Discombobulated" 🤣

"Solid operator" and "long levers" are two more Ron favorites. I wish he'd fuck off too, horrible commentator. I'm sure he can continue in a boxing role of some kind which doesn't involve ruining TV broadcasts.

I remember the Adam Smith gambling rumors. I probably even posted about them here. That was probably rubbish though, he kept his illness a secret so I think people just made something up.
