Fog Dude
The results of both the actual matches and our FPL Cup head-to-head clashes went into the initial post on Sunday night. All 5 tables are available to view now as well. In a low-scoring round, best performer Grecian – who was the only player to get more than one exact score – overtakes ultimo, and both of those are now a dozen points ahead of Rory. They're also edging towards lowest scorer MVP RULZ. Nobody managed to make it into double figures this time out. Stinky still leads, but Vegeta is now his main challenger as he's moved up two places into second spot. Briefcase, TildeGuy and myself have all exited the Cup competition. The rest of the participants go forward to the second group phase in a few weeks time. Bad weather put paid to the big North East derby in the Women's Cup, whilst the other tie in that competition produced the shock of the weekend in Aveley... which meant it was a dud outcome as far as we were concerned, because nobody bet on a home win! Much more straightforward away victories for the favoured sides in the men's equivalent were mostly good for at least a bunch of one-pointers. Back in the leagues, a rare home reverse for Burnley caught a lot of people out, whereas yet another defeat for Watford proved fruitful in what turned out to to be Quique Sánchez Flores' last game as manager (unless he returns someday for a third spell in charge). A success on the road for Werder Bremen and a score draw at Carrow Road were more of a mixed bag of guesses, although most participants did rightly think that Dortmund would spoil Jürgen Klinsmann's first match in the Hertha dugout. A new set of fixtures, plus the already promised rearranged D2D, will be up in the first post shortly.

Fog Dude
The final scores went into the opening post on Sunday night as per usual. The table's now been updated too. AdamTH17 got his D2D bet right, but sadly for him it's tough to make people bet against Liverpool these days, so only 3 of the other 9 participants disagreed with him. Still, in an otherwise low-scoring round, it was enough to put him into double figures and make him the week's best performer. Without those bonuses, Briefcase would've been joint top scorer. Elsewhere, Rory was the lowest scorer this time out, and is now a full 14 points adrift of Grecian. At the summit, Stinky continues to lead, but Vegeta has but the gap to just 5 points. Away from the south coast, a stalemate at Vicarage Road proved fruitful alongside wins for Leicester, Newcastle and Valencia. A home reverse for the blue half in the Manchester derby caught almost everybody out, whilst a score draw at the AmEx and the remaining two Spanish results turned out to be more of a mixed bag. Only a couple of players correctly guessed beforehand that The Blades would bounce back from their biggest defeat in over a year (in midweek) with victory at Carrow Road. A new card, plus the last D2D of the first half of the season, will be up in the original post very soon.
