Fog Dude
The results went into the opening post last night, and the table is just being uploaded as I type. Considering my flight only landed back at Bristol two and a half hours ago, though, I think I've made pretty good time in putting this out just slightly later than usual. Unfortunately there'll be a quick turnaround as there's an international round coming up, with most of the matches on the Friday, so get your picks in quick! Anyway, Stinky Dad made exactly the right punt to try to get himself off the foot of the standings, but sadly for him it didn't pay off. At least the fixture actually went ahead this time, despite the swift return of the snow. Everyone else took advantage, which helped to bring this round's average score up to a whopping 9.3 points. There was some movement among the chasing pack as joint lowest scorer Glenryck slips from second to fourth spot. Equal best performers TildeGuy and MVP RULZ are now the duo at the summit, but the former still leads overall by 8 points. Away from the Sixfields, wins for Bournemouth, Everton and Fiorentina all by the same scoreline proved fruitful, whilst 5-0 victories for both Liverpool and Inter were generally good for one-pointers. A home reverse for Huddersfield and a comfortable success for Brum caught quite a few participants out, whereas a score draw at Griffin Park and a narrow first-leg triumph for Brackley turned out to yield mainly correct guesses too. Fog Dude
The results went into the initial post yesterday evening, and the updated table was figured out shortly after that. This week's average was 5 points. Nobody switched places, although MVP RULZ did cut the deficit at the top to just 5 points by being the only participant into double figures for the round. Stinky Dad avoided being the outright worst performer despite picking late thanks to Grecian, but he has still ended up a full 30 points adrift at the bottom of the standings. A score draw in Düsseldorf, narrow away wins for England and Switzerland and equally close home victories for Northern Ireland and Turkey all proved somewhat fruitful, but similar scorelines in Poland, Scotland and Sweden caught a lot of people out. Nobody got the exact outcome right from the Victoria Stadium, but kudos to Glenryck for foreseeing a rare Gibraltarian triumph. He was also the only player who guessed that France would fail to beat Colombia, but the completion of the turnaround at the Stade de France means that turned into a dud result that yielded no points for anyone. Right, that's internationals over and done with as far as we're concerned. Since it's Easter, a new set of 20 matches will appear in the opening post very soon.
