All the usual info has been in the opening post since Sunday night. The updated table is there, showing that MVP RULZ has extended his advantage to 6 points. The only movement sees Rory drop into the bottom half for the first time this season. Stinky Dad is also further adrift of Grecian, and misses out on a possible unique double because of him. In the other FPL Cup semi-final, Briefcase obviously goes through as best performer, the sole participant into double figures and the only one with more than one exact score... but he effectively had a walkover because Vegeta didn't even play this time out! Honestly, you start a knockout competition so that mid-table players don't lose interest in the closing stages of the season, and then they go and disappear anyway. Harumph.

The average haul was on the low side at 6.44 recurring, so what caused that? Well, unexpectedly one-sided scorelines in favour of the home sides at Selhurst Park and Parkhead and in Florence didn't help, for starters. Then there were important and somewhat shocking reverses for Huddersfield and Newcastle on their home turf, and a surprisingly close outcome at Old Trafford. Elsewhere, a crucial victory for Saints and a routine one at Fir Park proved more fruitful. Last but not least, the extraordinary turnaround in the Derby d'Italia caught most people out, being as it was a masterclass by Luciano Spalletti in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Not to worry. I can't do anything about your exit from the Cup though, I'm afraid. Hope it was nothing too serious as surgeries go. Get well soon!
