Philjax
Ambitious......and no it's not an NWA show. United Wrestling Network partnership with Chinese. Â
Guest
Whenever I've heard them say "NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title" I've always assumed it was "World's" - possessive. But apparently not. According to that official NWA Twitter account, Nick Aldis is the champion of multiple worlds, placing the title right up there with WWE's Universal Championship. Paid Members Carbomb Posted April 13, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted April 13, 2018 Given that China is, to a certain degree, still an untapped market for wrestling, that's potentially a good way to get Aldis over with a significant chunk of the world's population. That arena looks good.
Philjax
A chance to get this belt on Cody Rhodes before he ends up back in WWE in a few years. Maybe. Â Â
Paid Members BomberPat Posted May 14, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted May 14, 2018 Cody's fighting for the NWA Title at All In, then. Cody vs. Aldis sounds extraordinarily dull on paper, though the story of Cody striving to win a belt synonymous with his Dad could be a good one. Maybe they could get the belt off Aldis in the meantime and on to a better opponent for Cody, though no one comes to mind. You'd think that Cody is probably the best choice for NWA Champion in the long run, particularly if he's able to take the belt with him to NJPW and whatnot. Paid Members Carbomb Posted May 14, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted May 14, 2018 Given how well Cody appears to be doing in Japan, I'd say he's a better choice than Aldis.
AshC
When is Tim Storm getting a shot, man? This long build is killing me.
Philjax
Â Personally I'd like Aldis to win both titles but then lose both of them in a rematch with Cody shortly after. That way they both get the double champ rub.

Guest
As much as I enjoy these videos, isn’t the point of wrestling to make money? How long a run are they gonna have racking up travel and show production wise before looking at generating income
CliveG
Last year Billy Corgan did an interview where he talked about a 20 year plan to rebuild the Brand . He's in no hurryhttps://www.si.com/wrestling/2017/10/02/billy-corgan-officially-announces-rebrand-nwa
Guest
Nothing tells me “no plan” than a 20 year plan. Fair play if this is now a hobby to him, but all outgoings with no income isn’t a business model
CliveG
Elsewhere he did talk of running shows this year or next and make them available online, for free initially , and now they are starting selling T-shirts, so they are thinking of an income.
