Paid Members PunkStep Posted February 8, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted February 8, 2017 I haven't watched this episode yet, but I would say 205 Live is definitely getting there MrE. Now they have started to flesh out the characters, they actually mean something and the crowd are starting to invest in them. Neville joining the division was a masterstroke and delaying the likes of Tozawa and Metalik from joining has kept things nice and fresh. It's hard to compare it to NXT, because NXT have a natural advantage when it comes to crowd reactions given they have specific tapings for their shows. I prefer NXT overall, even though their product is far from their best at the moment. But 205 is definitely on the ascension.
Mr.E
Cool, ok. As/when I get time, taking a break from my WCW re-watch, I'll jump into it and give it a go.
Guest
This episode would be good to just dip into really, basically everything good is more or less covered in one episode with its most receptive crowd and aforementioned cracking main event. I also recommend Gallagher's I Forfeit match with Daivari from a few weeks back but most of the other stuff is missable
Ambulance Chaser
The fatal 5 way this week was really good, I enjoyed the hell out of that match. Â Gran Metalik will be interesting to see, hopefully he manages to avoid the "great in the cruiserweight classic but not so much outside" stink that has affected a few of the guys. TildeGuy~!
Austin Aries has been cleared, I'm guessing that's Nevilles next feud for Mania.
Ambulance Chaser
I'm really intrigued by a Gallagher/Neville match, like pretty much as excited by that prospect as anything going on in Wrestling if I'm honest. Such a clash of styles, hope it lives up.

Heel/heel cruiserweight match at Mania? I don't see it. I think we'll get a multi-man or Jack Gallagher VS Neville, with Gallagher winning the title from Neville at some point. Aries will then take the title from him- quick transitional reign for Gallagher. That's my guess anyway.

Apparently, according to Meltzer, Neville/Aries is up there for Mania if Austin Aries is ready to go. Even though he's more of a heel commentator, it'd be easy enough to switch him into a face role.
D@mm
Make it a 6 way ladder match with Neville, Aries, Perkins, Swann, Tozawa and Gallagher for the Cruiserweight title at Mania and I will be happy.

Even though he's more of a heel commentator, it'd be easy enough to switch him into a face role. Â Â Â I imagine it will be on the pre show if that happens, I can't see them giving the cruiserweights a main show spot unless they do something like a 6 man ladder match as mentioned above. D@mm
Yeah I would like it on the main card as there aint many matches rumoured to Mania that have me excited, a 6 man ladder match with them guys going all out would be awesome but I can't see it happening. Paid Members PunkStep Posted February 9, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted February 9, 2017 Any cruiserweight match has 'pre-show' written all over it. Nobody gives a shit nearly enough for them to be on the grandaddy of them all. The interest in the division is improving, but Mania may be too soon. Guest
Ladder match opener would be perfect spot. Chuck about ten in so it's a spotfest
D@mm
Yeah it will probably be on the pre show but would be good if it was on the main card with the crowd being full by then and up for a car crash style match, otherwise the card is going to be a bit blah for me. Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted February 9, 2017 Author Awards Moderator Share Posted February 9, 2017 Good show top to bottom this week with a great main event. That's the sort of thing this division should be doing - it's good to see it looking like things are starting to click.
