Machida has just been given an 18 month ban (not sure how far it retrospectively goes back), but he's out for the foreseeable.

Think they should match Mousasi up with Anderson whilst beating him still means something, could give him the boost right into contention. Alternatively, Silva beats a guy who's been on a bit of a run and shows he's still got something left in the tank.

That's a horrible idea in my opinion, as Mousasi will simply take him down and win a boring decision in my opinion. It seems at this stage that when Anderson gets taken down he just defends enough to not get hurt or caught, but looks as though he generally can't be arsed actually trying to get up.

Anderson vs Hall is still the fight to make. Two strikers who'll cut some moves and put on a show.

Mousasi is on route to a title shot in my opinion, guys just straight wrecking folk again with what appears to be very little effort. A strange one is Mousasi.

Ross Pearson losing cost me a hundred bucks, not happy about that. What's everyones opinion on Ross now? I wouldn't be too upset if they cut him, he's had his day and is on the slide. He's still handy for a decent scrap, but there's just something not clicking. He was overly one dimensional Saturday and Ray picked him apart over the distance (Pearson 30-27 on the cards was a headscratcher).

Oh, and if anyone needs anymore proof that Dan Hardy is a shitarse, look no further than the post-fight interview with Stevie Ray. He asked a question then let Ray bumble on forever, at one point the look on Ray's face was 'can end this now' but Hardy just left the microphone in front of his face. His analysis is good, his commentary and post-fight interview skills are not. "Oooooooooo!".

The two Welshman did the nation proud though, both come through tough fights in crowd pleasing fashion, great stuff. Nice to see their fights covered by local news and newspapers too, cracking start.

He also announced the winner of the main event as Hall.

The UFC are about to lose Bisping and Pickett in the next 12 months. Can't see them cutting Ross. He maybe a gatekeeper in the grand scheme of things but he puts on good fights and is a name fighter for a main card/semi main event in the UK. Bisping and Joanne Calderwood are the only two Brits in the UFC rankings atm, thats rather worrying. Some of the younger UK fighters need to step up a level.

Can't watch the video yet, but that seems completely possible. Of course, on the other 6 days that week Bisping probably knocked him out with a left jab. Hall just seems like the kind of fighter that could beat anyone with a mental flying attack on his day ... it's just his day hardly ever comes.

Nah mate, when you listen to the video it's not like that. If Bisping's version is accurate (and it sounds plausible to me), they were drilling top control and escapes from the bottom. Hall had a nightmare holding Bisping down (this I can believe, everyone bar Tim Kennedy has had fits with it). When the roles were reversed, Bisping was able to hold Hall down for nearly the full 5 minute round. They get back up and, with Bisping's guard down, Hall starts trying to tee off full force on him.

Listen to it anyway, Bisping tells it better. If it's true then Hall's a dick and the mental midget he's always been accused of being.

Yeah, I even remember back during the TUF days that Hall had a bit of a weird side to him. Strikes me as the kind of cunt you wouldn't want with you on a night out, especially after he's had a few beers.

Yeh that is worrying. I think the level of UK fighter in the UFC at the moment is higher than ever too, a lot of the guys just stay stuck in that undercard, uk card status, a good few deserve some higher status slots.

Pearson will likely stick around but he's like 2-6 in his last 8 or something, he's most definitely on the slide.

You forgot about Jimi Manuwa who is ranked at 5th in the LHW division. He's coming of a huge KO of OSP to and is probably only one or two wins away from a title shot in a depleted division. That said he'll be almost always the underdog against any of those other guys and his luck never seems to run much.

While they might go for him, he's been fed mostly cans in his career, While capable on the right night Cyborg has about 30 loses on his record.

They had the chance to sign Melvin Manhoef not long after that crazy fight he had with Cyborg in Cage Rage but didn't go for him as he knew he would just get taken down.

Liam McGeary gets beat by all the wrestlers with decent submission defence but I think he could crack the top 10, thinking about it him Vs Manuwa would make for a good scrap between two Brits.

I love McGeary. I don't get time to follow Bellator as much these days so I pick and choose the shows I watch, but McGeary is one of the guys who guarantees me tuning in.

With the amount of shows the UFC do now and some of the utter dross on the lower end of the roster, I'd be all for them signing Melvin Manhoef even this late in the game. He probably should've retired a while back but if he's going to fight on, I'd like to see him added to the UFC's European shows. He'd be a great addition to those cards and if they matched him with the right fighters you'd pretty much be guaranteed a crowd pleaser.

I might be biased though because I fucking love me a bit of Melvin Manhoef. Got to be in my top 5 favourite MMA fighters ever.
