Only issues I have with using it (or my starter Bulbasaur) is that they appear so rarely it'd take me forever to evolve it.If it wasn't for the constant connection/server issues and app crashes, I'd use it much more often, but currently it's more of a trying my luck while I'm out deal. Squirtle is good, evolves (eventually) into the superb Blastoise. But as Lips mentions, it'll take ages to evolve as they're quite rare. Quote

I'm about 10 candy away from evolving Pidgeotto up to whatever it turns into next. Here's a question! Is there ever any options / divergence in the evolution tree for these guys? Or does one thing always necessarily become the same thing when it evolves? Quote

Or does one thing always necessarily become the same thing when it evolves? Depends on the Pokemon. Most follow a specific tree but a few can branch off. Eevee can evolve into 8 different Pokemon, or Poliwag can evolve into Poliwhirl and then either Poliwrath or Politoed. A few Pokemon have Mega Evolutions or different forms too. Quote
