Callum1993
http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2016/0503/611403/spoiler-wwe-superstar-getting-re-packaged/ Â 'WWE Hall of Famer Bob Backlund will be returning to WWE TV beginning this Thursday on SmackDown. Â Backlund will be working as Darren Young's life coach. The duo is apparently borrowing a phrase from WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump - "Make Darren Great Again." Â A segment airs on Thursday's SmackDown where Young asks Backlund for his help. Backlund tells Young he needs to start by realizing that wrestling is life. Â So this is hugely random. Paid Members tiger_rick Posted May 4, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted May 4, 2016 Never, ever been interested in Backlund but, fuck it, this is something, anything different to the usual match-match-match stuff so bring it on!
Paid Members Scott Malbranque Posted May 4, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted May 4, 2016 I loved crackers Backlund, truth be told so I'm delighted to see him back in some capacity. He's like one of the Neville brothers of wrestling. Just picture him shuttling up and down the halls and doing some form of stretching every 50 seconds. This was wonderful. He seemed so genuinely taken aback by the pop he got:
Wrasslin
I'm really looking forward to this. I actually love the idea of him coaching a whole stable of no hopers.
The Clint
It's the 'New Era' so let's bring Backlund back to TV. It was even funnier when they turned him into a big heel while they were pushing the 'New Generation'.
Ambulance Chaser
YES. YES, this is the best news I have read in a good while. Love Backlund, much respect for the guy.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted May 4, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted May 4, 2016 Bob's always by the phone if you need him. Remember Kevin Nash dropping his name every week on TNA to the point where you pretty much had to book him.
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted May 4, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted May 4, 2016 Remember on the early episodes of Raw there was always a guy in a yellow Bob Backlund T-Shirt opposite the hard camera. WTF was that guy on?
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted May 4, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted May 4, 2016 When do we get Backlund Vs Darren Young? My Money's on Backlund as he's a beast of a man. Have you seen the guy's workout regimen with his "Gym In A Box"? Â https://www.youtube.com/embed/GVFGZCqgJm8

Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted May 4, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted May 4, 2016 When was Darren great the first time? When the Nexus took over the business and all 7 of them went on to be huge stars.
NEWM
When was Darren great the first time? NXT Redemption! 'Mr No Days Off', and his blood feud with Titus O'Neill that ended with them teaming up. Glory days, a bit.
Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted May 5, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted May 5, 2016 It's the 'New Era' so let's bring Backlund back to TV. It was even funnier when they turned him into a big heel while they were pushing the 'New Generation'.  First two matches he had with Bret Hart on WWF Superstars in 1994 were great. Last one where he turned heel was tremendous.
Daily Buzzard
Scary thing is, it's been longer since that Royal Rumble match than it was between Bob Backlund losing the title and that Royal Rumble. Â Hopefully Bob has got his tooth fixed if he's going to be back on TV regularly.
