Here we go!

Message from Ana (Mrs Slick), who helped with the draw (and also supplied the hat in which the names were pulled from. Thanks love.) : Hi guys! Sorry if you didn't get the draw you wanted! Good luck!

So if you get a scenario or an opponent you don't like, blame her. Not me!

Love to have given the Bound For Glory one a shot, actually even more so if it was a WWE version. Although i'd definitely go way over the word limit with it again. Thought i may as well post my Brock one here anyway after writing it up. So, here it is.

BROCK LESNAR 2012

As there's a bit of a word limit on this and there's a lot to cover, many of the events that happen within the rest of WWE follow a similar path until the Summer where Brocks insertion begins to affect things differently.

On the post Extreme Rules Raw the show opens with Cole and King discussing the past nights events and the epic encounter of John Cena vs Brock Lesnar showing black and white stills of the action and opening up the questions of what the aftermath is going to bring for both superstars and the WWE as a whole.

Cole - "Tonight - the fallout following Brock Lesnar and John Cenas brutal battle. We hear from both men - Tonight on Raw!"

Raw gets under way and the main talking point throughout is about John Cena and Brock Lesnar, their match and what might happen tonight, mentioning that Brock has been embarrassed in defeat and that he may be on the rampage and bad things are bound to go down.

The Miz and Zack Ryder are having a match on Raw as we approach the top of the hour on Raw when...

DUM. DADADUM. DADADADUM.

Brock Lesnars music hits and Affliction t-shirt guy loses his shit. Brocks an animal unleashed, he's got destruction set for anything in his path. As he storms down the ramp he shoves the cameraman out of his way, sending him tumbling off the ramp to the floor. Zack Ryder and Miz suitably shit their pants. Miz remains in the ring unsure of what to do as by the time they've reliased the situation and need to do something Brock is at ringside. Ryder escapes the ring but stupidly manages to get caught by Brock. Brock lays Zack out with a brutal spinebuster on the outside. Quickly Brocks attention turns to Miz and he jumps to the ring and eyes him up. Miz contemplates jumping out but knows he's going to get caught anyway, he runs for Lesnar, Lesnar shoots and takes Miz down and pummels the life out of him once he's got him down. He goes back outside and picks up the scraps left of Ryder and F5s him on the outside. He then goes back for Miz takes him to the outside, screams at King and Cole who scarper and then visciously powerbombs Miz through their announce table. He exits, having destroyed everything in sight. (Miz and Ryder are used here as a little nod to the 'legitimising WWE angle Brock came in with, as well as just being fun fodder for him).

Shortly after, Kofi and R-Truth are defending their tag titles against The Prime TIme Players and it happens again. Brock enters. Lays out everyone, this time getting the steel steps involved. Loads of agents and officials get sent out to try and tame the beast and regain order, failing miserably as Brock takes a number of them out, gets hold of Finlay and snaps his arm with the Kimura. Nobody dares get close to him following that and he exits again at his own accord having left a trail of destruction again.

At the top of Raw, John Cena comes out to say some words. Within moments of coming out though floods of security, officials and even Police have also come out and surrounded the ringside area. Cena questions this as Big Johhny Ace appears on the titantron (not wanting to dare leave the safety of his guarded office and says he's done this for Johns own safety, he's worried just what Brock could do and he has to try and prevent any more attacks and keep his superstars safe. Cena reponds saying 'Look, i came out here tonight to say that Brock gave me the hardest battle and beating i've ever endured of my life last night and you better believe i'm feeling it today. Having conquered the beast, i'm back baby! And i want to announce my intentions tonight of setting my sights on regaining the WWE Championship but, hell...if Brock wants to go again...Let's do this!'

Big Johnny begins to panic as do Cole and Lawler selling it on commentary. And shortly after this Brock is back but this time he's come from the crowd as all the security have been recruited around the ring in foolish panic. He jumps the barrier and attempts to storm through the lot. Cena readies himself. Brock keeps getting up and barging through, laying out bodies in the process. Cena attempts to get out and get at Brock but is also prevented by security, officials and police. Eventually Brock is taken down and cuffed behind his back and John Cena is held back. Brock is still fighting and itching to get at Cena while in the cuffs but begins to get lead up the ramp as Raw goes off the air.

The following week on Raw

Triple H returns to TV doing his COO bit and addresses the Brock Lesnar situation of last week. He announces that due to the events that unfolded and the unpredictability of what Brock might do, he reluctantly has to suspend Brock Lesnar indefinitely as a means of a cooling off period. After this, he calls out Big Johnny and gives him a dressing down for causing these issues and giving Brock the freedom he gave him when he signed him, allowing Brock to think he can run roughshod without consequences. He says he'll take control of the Brock matters from here on and due to his imcompetence, he's now going to have to fight to remain the GM. Starting tonight. As a reward for not only survivng but beating Brock Lesnar, John Cena gets to fae Big Johhny - TONIGHT! If Cena wins, he gets his WWE title shot and Big Johnny loses his GM job.

The match takes place in the main event and goes down as the Over The Limit PPV went down, Big Show turns heel and helps Johnny take the victory.

At Over The Limit Big Show vs John Cena is set, with similar stips. Whoever wins, gets a WWE title shot. If Show wins Big Johhny stays, if Cena wins Big Johnny is gone. Cena does indeed win and the next night on Raw, Triple H gladly sends Big Johnny packing. BUT hold the phone, the WWE title situation isn't that simple. CM Punk was ringside for commentary in the Show/Cena contest and had a hand in helping Cena win, ridding WWE of Big Johhny who he had clashed with for some time. Due to this Show objects to Cena recieving a title match and paints it as though Punk helped Cena win to avoid facing Show. Cena, however agrees that he doesn't deserve a title shot under those circumstamces (but Big Johhny still deserves to get fired). So Triple H sets up a WWE title triple Threat match for the next PPV (No Way Out?) CM Punk vs John Cena vs Big Show. Triple H also announces he'll now be looking for a new GM for both Raw and Smackdown and that those interested in taking the role, should make themselves known and they may be considered.

At No Way Out, CM Punk retains. Over the next couple of months many people make their interest in being the new GM of Raw apparent...including...

Vickie Guererro

William Regal

Hornswoggle

Jim Ross

Sgt. Slaughter

Mike Adamle

Mick Foley

Bret Hart

and Shawn Michaels

It is announced that the new Raw GM will be announced at Raw 1000. Money in the Bank goes down as it did and Cena wins the Raw contract then goes on to announce he's cashing it in at Raw 1000. Raw 1000 goes down in similar fashion. There's the Royal Rumble announcement by Rock and confrontation with Punk and Bryan and Punk goes on to turn heel later. But as Triple H goes to announce the new GM of Raw, he gets interupted by...

PAUL HEYMAN

Who has a letter from the Board of Directors with him. Triple H is confused and bemused. The board of directors have over-ruled Triple H and felt he shouldn't detemine the new Raw GM due to his previous issues with the last one and feeling he may hire his mate Shawn Michaels for the role, so over-ruling him in a controversial decision Paul Heyman, who made his desire to be GM clear directly to the Board of Directors, is hired as the new Raw GM. Heyman smugly lets Triple H know it will be a pleasure working with him. Trips isn't happy.

The Raw 1000 Main Event ends in total chaos. There's a refbump and both Punk and Cena have victory sealed with no ref in sight. For some reason no officials are coming out. Then Cena has Punk hoisted for the AA and Heyman appears at the top of the ramp, Cena hits the AA and Heyman signals to the back for someone to come out, seemingly an offical but instead we get...

DUM. DADADUM. DADADADUM.

BROCK LESNAR! He's back! The crowd are stunned, as is Cena who readies himself for what's coming and that evil, horrid grin comes across Paul Heymans face. Lesnar hits the ring and a tired Cena can't hold up to a fired up fresh Lesnar. Lesnar takes Cena down and nails him with multiple F5s. Suddenly CM Punk comes to and is shocked to see what's before his eyes. He's confused, unsure what to make of it. Heyman smiles like a dick again and Punk cries 'What have you done!? Why did you do this!?'

'IFFF YA SMEEELLLLLLLLLL....'

Rock runs down to the ring and immediately Brock gets right in his face. They stare face to face for a moment about to explode as the crowd soaks it in. And it kicks off, they exchange blows and Rock manages to get the advantage, is he finally the man stop Brock? Spinebuster. Here it comes. He spouts something CM Punks way then sets to hit the Peoples Elbow buuut...

BAM! CM Punk clobbers Rock!

He nails Rock. He turns and glares at Heyman and Brock, then hoists Rock up onto his shoulders, GTS! Heyman and Lesnar offer up Cena to Punk. Punk gives Cena the same, GTS. Heyman calls out an official, Punk covers and retains the WWE title. Heyman awards Punk the WWE title and slowly a smile comes across his face and then they embrace. And Punk and Brock exchange a handshake and a nod as Brock exits.

The following week Raw starts with Triple H opening. He calls out Heyman. Triple H lets it be known how unhappy he is with the Board of Directors decision and how last week unfolded but there's nothing he can do about Heyman being GM, but he says he still has the power to make matches (i think he does) and sets CM Punk vs John Cena for the WWE title at Summerslam in a rematch. After he does this, Heyman seems fine with that decision and likes that main event and then goes on to make an announcement of his own, the suspension being lifted on Brock Lesnar. Triple H implies he's happy with that because there's one other match he's making for Summerslam...

Brock Lesnar vs Triple H!

Brock comes to the ring and they square off. Brock seems happy with this match and ready to fight, Heyman acting as his agent and GM of Raw takes him aside and says he doesn't have to do this, you're not here for this. You want John Cena. Brock whispers something in Heymans ear and his face lights up. He steps aside and Brock shoots for Triple H and takes him down and a brawl ensues. Lesnar gets the upper-hand and lays the Kimura on, leaving Triple H in agony. Heyman announces that Brock accepts the challenge for Summerslam. Cena is absent from Raw this week.

The following week, Triple H is on a rampage. He's wounded favouring his arm but he's made up for that by having a sledgehammer. He interupts matches and lays out jobbers, muchlike Brock previous. He announces he wants Brock gone, he's going to give him the beating of his life at Summerslam and finish him for good. Heyman comes out and says Triple H can have his wish, if he defeats Brock at SummerSlam, Brock will walk away....but on one condition...If Brock wins Triple H steps down as COO and loses all power. Triple H fueled by fury - 'YOU GOT IT!'

SummerSlam - Punk retains due to Brocks interference and Brock goes over Triple H in a bloody battle and snaps his arm totally this time. Triple H has to be helped out as the show closes. Triple H is gone, for now. He's taken off TV to sell the injury and the angle. Also at Summerslam, following Sheamus vs Big Show, Dolph Ziggler cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to bag the World title from Sheamus.

The next night on Raw, Cena has had enough, he wants one more shot at CM Punk. He wants it in a Street Fight tonight and tells him to bring Brock with him. The street fight occurs and eventually Brock arrives and gets involved, but Cena is ready for him and prepared. He's come loaded with the chain that helped him to victory back at Extreme Rules, Lesnar eats a bunch of chain loaded shots and gets an AA through the announce table. Brock is out of the picture. Cena has the match seemingly won when shockingly new World champion Dolph Ziggler appears. Dolph levels Cena with the World Belt, pulls Punk over for the cover, 123 and Punk retains again. The story becomes clear as Heyman arrives and thanks Ziggler and they shake hands sealing the deal. Ziggler has ditched Vickie and is seemingly a 'Paul Heyman guy'.

The next week Heyman confirms it. He's recruited Ziggler, promising the big success he deserves just like he has for Punk and Lesnar. The table gets set for Night of Champions. Sheamus is denied a World title rematch and has to deal with facing Big Show to become #1 contender. While Ziggler and Punk have decided to attempt to add to their gold and make The Night of Champions be referring to them and challenge Kane and Daniel Bryan for the tag titles. Cena and Brock Lesnar will meet in a Last Man Standing match.

Night of Champions - Sheamus earns a title shot, Punk and Ziggler take the tag titles and in the Last Man Standing main event, Cena takes the victory with a sledgehammer assistance.

Leading into Hell in a Cell, Danny Bry and Kane fail to regain the tag titles and in singles matches Kane goes over Punk to earn a title shot at Hell in a Cell. Sheamus will also challenge Ziggler for the WHC and in the big main event it's Brock vs Cena to settle it in the demonic structure...

HELL IN A CELL!

HIAC - Ziggler over Sheamus, Punk over Kane with D-Bry accidentally distracting the ref to Punks advantage then walking out on Kane. In Hell in a Cell, Brock takes it in a brutal, bloody affair. Following the match he climbs to the top of the cell in celebration much like he did in 2003, but as he does The Games music hits. Triple H is back, he storms down and proceeds to climb the Cell and meet Brock at the top, the show ends with Triple H and Brock slugging it out atop the Cell.

On the post - HIAC Raw, D-Bry reveals his colours. Heyman has got in his ear and led him to the dark side he turns on Kane and joins forces with Heymans Dangerous Alliance. A MAMMOTH Survivor Series Match main event begins to get set up and take shape. Heyman dares anyone to try to take down his new stronger than ever Dangerous Alliance. Triple H and Cena agree to join forces and be a part of the opposing team. Sheamus soon follows. In the run-up to Survivor Series, D-bry becomes the IC champ and Cena and Sheamus take the tag titles from Punk and Ziggler. Kane takes the last spot but gets taken out via a Brock attack. Leaving one spot open remaining on the babyface team that they need to fill, Cena reckons there's only one man who can fill it.

THE ROCK.

So Survivor Series is set, Paul Heymans Guys - BROCK LESNAR, CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan vs THE ROCK, John Cena, Triple H and Sheamus. This is where my booking ends as it was all leading here, the idea being to have linked several issues that have amounted over the course of the year as well as tease potential future encounters leading into the Rumble and WrestleMania with this match.

Well, I said ASAP, so... here's mine. Approx 1750 words, which is bang in the middle of the word limits. Yay.

Mim371 vs. HarmonicGenerator

Stone Cold vs Goldberg

One of the dream matches that basically got away. Goldberg was one of WCW's most powerful draws, while Austin's contribution to the industry will never be in question. When WCW was bought out by Vince McMahon, many thought it was only a matter of time before big Bill showed up and got paired up in a feud with Austin. Bill chose to sit at home and collect his guaranteed Time Warner money, and by the time he finally showed up in WWE, Austin's neck was knackered and he had to hang 'em up. Still, WHAT IF?

Book an Austin/Goldberg storyline.

Culminate with a match fitting their “Dream opponents” status.

Time-wise, it's up to you. You can have Goldberg get into the Invasion mix in 2001, or you can switch one of them over to the rival promotion and do the dream match there instead from when both were hot.

Time-wise, I’m beginning in mid-2002 and ending at WrestleMania XIX.

A couple of creative licence caveats before we begin, though. The first is that Austin’s neck isn’t quite as fucked as it actually was. The second is that the Lesnar vs. Austin thing that was rumoured for 2002 was never on the cards. Finally, the third is that Goldberg’s actually bothered about wrestling.

So, we begin in May-June time in 2002.

Austin is tied up with Eddie Guerrero, Ric Flair and that lot – the same situation he was actually in at that time.

Except, one week, he comes to the ring on RAW and demands an end to all that.

27.jpg

”Nature Boy, Latino Heat, I could whup your asses every week from here to Summerslam, and twice on Sundays. But Stone Cold Steve Austin’s got bigger fish to fry.

You see, Ric Flair, when you became co-owner of the Dubya-Dubya-F (nb: Austin never quite gets the hang on the name change in this timeline) there was someone you neglected to call. The only man apart from Stone Cold Steve Austin who coulda helped you against Vince McMahon. The biggest fish Stone Cold never whupped like a bag of meat. (nb: Stone Cold is also a terrible one for mixed metaphors.)

I’m talking to YOU, BILL GOLDBERG.

jpgexcitement.jpg

For those of y’all who ain’t in the know, back when Stone Cold was the biggest star in the business, there was a small pond down in Georgia. And in that small pond was a big fish, another guy kicking ass. Kicking all kinds of ass just like Stone Cold. And Stone Cold would hear about this guy, whose name was Bill Goldberg, and Stone Cold’s fans would say, Stone Cold, when’re you gonna kick Goldberg’s ass? And Stone Cold was ready for Bill Goldberg when he was finished with the competition.

But Bill Goldberg’s been sitting home for a year, picking up his guaranteed paychecks, instead of making his way to RAW for a fight with Steve Austin.

But you know what time it is, Goldberg?

(here Austin listens to what his watch is saying)

It’s time for AUSTIN VS. GOLDBERG, one or one.

I await your response.”

And with that, Austin leaves.

And he doesn’t come back. Just like what actually happened.

WWE carries on through June and July just like it did, with Eric Bischoff being made GM of RAW, and Stephanie McMahon GM of SmackDown.

10923_crop_340x234.jpg

Shortly after getting the job, while all those summer talent trades are going on, Stephanie makes an announcement about some pretty lucrative acquisitions she’s made. Including one that’ll make all those guys sitting at home watching SmackDown on TV and drinking beers (winky face, hint hint) spit those beers out in shock.

Shortly afterwards, we see Rey Mysterio turn up, just like what actually happened. And then at Summerslam, Funaki, of all people, is in the ring. Stephanie comes out and announces her latest and greatest coup over Eric Bischoff:

08.jpg

Goldberg! It’s Goldberg! Bill Goldberg is in WWE, AND HE’S ON SMACKDOWN! Take that, Eric Bischoff!

Bill destroys Funaki in seconds, making Summerslam 2002 even better than it was already, and he exits.

Goldberg spends the next few weeks having fun against the likes of D-Von, Mark Henry, Billy Kidman and so on. Each week, attempts are made to interview him – why now? What’s persuaded him? Will he go after Brock Lesnar’s WWE Title? What’s his goal? Each week, Goldberg refuses.

Until one week in early October, when Goldberg comes to the ring with a mic in hand.

2z52i61.png

”Enough of the questions. Enough spec-u-lation. I’m here for one reason and one reason only, and that’s because of a challenge made a few months back by Stone Cold Steve Austin. Play the footage.”

(the video of Austin’s promo from early in the summer is played)

”You think YOU were the biggest star in our business? 173 and 0, Austin, and that was just the appetiser. Biggest fish in a small pond? Austin, I’m the biggest shark in the Pacific Ocean. You want to be next? YOU WANT TO BE NEXT?

I’M HERE, AUSTIN! I’M HERE FOR YOU!

602749_448067571927046_1832995854_n.png

But where are you, Austin? Oh yeah, you took your ball and went home.

I’ll be waiting, Austin, when you’re ready to step up and be beaten by the best. Until then, I’m gonna keep kicking ass like you never could, maybe I’ll take a Championship or two, and I’m gonna be the face of this business like you never were. Now, who’s next?”

And out comes Chavo or someone to be squashed. Strong words from Goldberg, with more repetition of the word ‘ass’, because they did that all the time in 2002. And the WWE keeps moving on, more or less the same as it did in real life. (Goldberg later addresses why he picked SmackDown over RAW; basically, it paid more and he can’t stand Eric cocking Bischoff. His words.)

In November, they sign this guy:

28.jpg

And the competition between Bischoff and McMahon for his services proceeds as it did. Except this time, Bischoff offers Steph a deal: she can have Steiner for SmackDown, but he gets Goldberg for RAW.

This brings out Goldberg. Steph asks him. By this time, Goldberg’s run through most of the SmackDown roster (up to the A-Train/Matt Hardy level, at least). Goldberg says he’ll think it over. The prospect of fresh meat is enticing, you can tell. Steph, annoyed that he didn’t reject Bischoff outright, loses her cool and FIRES Goldberg!

mqdefault.jpg

Goldberg no-sells it. He says to Bischoff, “get me Austin”. Bischoff nods, because he’ll agree to anything. Goldberg signs a RAW contract, promptly Jackhammers Bischoff and leaves. Steiner consoles Stephanie.

(nb: For the purposes of this, Steiner’s in better ring-shape in this timeline too. Just so he has a better WWE run than he actually did.)

So, Goldberg goes to RAW, and keeps on killing guys, getting on the mic after each match and asking Bischoff, “where’s Austin?” No response from the boss.

Before we know it, it’s time for…

1052156.jpg

… and Goldberg enters. (incidentally, Triple H vs. Booker T happens at this event and not WrestleMania, for reasons to be revealed later)

He eliminates loads of people. Brock Lesnar has also entered. He also eliminates loads of people. At one point, the two of them are the only two in the ring. They batter the crap out of each other and everyone gets very excited.

Goldy has Lesny up for a Jackhammer, when Eric Bischoff interrupts. His words? “You want it? YOU GOT IT!”

SMASH!

stonecold_large_medium.jpg

STONE COLD! STONE COLD! He and Goldberg get right into it, brawl brawl brawl brawl brawl, fighting their way out of the ring and the Royal Rumble! The match continues, Lesnar wins and faces Angle just like in reality.

Austin cuts an impassioned promo the following night on RAW. Took his ball and went home? Stone Cold took his BROKEN NECK and went home, got some surgery, drunk a lot of beers, and trained his ass off because he heard Bill Goldberg finally grew some balls. So where’s Bill Goldberg now? Finally got a taste of some real competition, and he’s running scared –

Out comes Goldberg. He told Austin he’d be next. Austin can pretend all he wants, but he knows he can’t stop Goldberg.

Austin challenges Goldberg for No Way Out. Bischoff interrupts and says he’s the GM, he makes the matches round here, and Goldberg’s already signed for a match at No Way Out – against the World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H!

hhh_display_image.jpg

Goldberg says, fine. So let’s make it happen on the biggest stage of them all:

wwe_wrestlemania_19_0001.jpg

Austin looks around. He asks the audience, if they wanna see Stone Cold Steve Austin get back in the ring and whup Goldberg’s ass at WrestleMania, give him a hell yeah! They do, so Austin’s in.

It’s Goldberg vs. Austin at ‘Mania! Bischoff has no choice in the matter, but he sees dollar signs in his eyes so he’s cool with it.

Goldberg is defeated by DQ at No Way Out, because he’s not getting the title just yet. Over the course of March, they prove themselves to be a match for each other – Goldberg still squashing blokes, Austin just beating them up whenever he feels like it. They get into wars of words, but mostly, whenever they have actual contact with each other, tensions boil over and they end up brawling, to the point where they have to be kept apart until ‘Mania.

At WrestleMania, they’re let loose. They have a match. There’s not a lot of finesse, but it’s just how you’d imagine an Austin-Goldberg match to be. Hot crowd, lots of punches, spears, Thesz presses, out of the ring brawling, a superplex, many Stunner attempts, several Jackhammer attempts, some chairs and belt shots thrown in.

(if you’re wondering where Hollywood Rock sits in all this, he had his Hogan match, but ego-driven man that he is, he actually ends up teaming with Triple H “for the first time ever!!!! But not really!” against Booker T and an invigorated Scott Steiner in an All Star Tag Match which may or may not be for the belt. But that’s another story.)

Who wins? Well, it should be Goldberg, and he came so close, but we just can’t have that happen. This is a one time only match, and so Austin’s got to go over. His neck is still done for, he’s got a handful of matches left in him, if that. So he wins. But there’s a show of respect afterwards…

8524440175_f11042d9f1.jpg

…see, they’re friends really. Then beer.

45.jpg

Afterwards, Goldberg goes on much the same path, facing The Rock at Backlash, and so on, except in this timeline he wins the bloody Title in the bloody Elimination Chamber like he should’ve in the first place. Austin may retire, or he may just have enough in the tank for one or two more matches – it’d be nice to have that final one with the Rock, maybe at Mania XX, or if he fancies a pop at Brock, that’s fine too. But he fought Goldberg, Goldberg fought back, they were basically even, and that’s what we got out of that. The two greatest ass-kickers in the history of the business, kicking each other’s asses for our entertainment. Ass.

I thought I was going to miss the second round, cause my granny had a heart attack two weeks ago and I got a job at the same time. (It's been pretty all go around here). But things are settling down so I can focus on this a bit.

Thanks for the nice comments anyway, and look forward to reading the UKFF Battle Royal (I want a TAKA cameo like in RR 2000)

Nah, it'd have to be a wrestler who's posted on here. So, I dunno, Alex Shane or Earthquake, I guess.

I'd just like to say cheers to Nicko for another superb effort (even though I'm still technically yet to beat anybody), and well done to Up Chuck for a well deserved win. Already looking forward to next year (judges: I'll work on my blow job skills before then).

Can I get away with a cheeky 2001 words? If so, I'll have mine up tomorrow after a quick check-over in the morning. So much for taking my time, just poured out of me this evening.
