Our second series of wrestling-related categories for each of which you should feel free to submit up to three nominations.

- Best moment

- Biggest anticlimax

- Funniest moment

- Best bang for your buck *

- Best non-wrestler

- Poster of the year **

- GTFO ***

* "Best bang for your buck" is where people have to factor in the individual's overall role in the pecking order, so the top stars aren't likely to win it but somebody like Chris Masters a couple of years ago, Bobby Eaton or Brad Armstrong can. It's an award for the person who always gives a notably good performance in his role, even if it doesn't look as though he'll ever make any upward progression. It also covers break-out stars.

** "Poster of the year" is nothing to do with typing on a keyboard but celebrates all of the artwork promoting PPVs and events, art on DVD covers, anything either produced in 2012 or promoting something from 2012. I'm going to keep the potentially misleading title "poster" to see who's paying attention.

*** "GTFO" is for the performer who's not necessarily bad but who you just cannot stand. Maybe he's stale beyond belief and should ride off into the sunset. Maybe he flip-flops too much and brushes off superplexes like it ain't no thang. Maybe you hate him because he can't apply an STF and all the kids like him. Whatever your reasoning, you want him off your TV.

Honourable mention to Shawn Michaels. Who, even though he's hardly been around (and was involved in my favourite match and moment this year), was so bad in the build-up to Summerslam that he nearly put himself into contention.

- Best moment

1. Brock Lesnar's return. A "Holy Shit!" chant for walking around the ring? C'mon son. Plus the epic cap punt.

2. DX return at Raw 1000. Just incredible nostalgia. Nothing groundbreaking, but it didn't need to be. It was awesome seeing HHH, HBK, The New Age Outlaws and X-Pac in the same ring. Didn't really care for Sandow's involvement, but I might have liked it more if NAO and Pac joined in on the beating.

3. CM Punk's heel turn at Raw 1000. Not so much the turn itself, but the visual of Punk laying The Rock out with the GTS and standing tall was something I never thought I'd see.

- Biggest anticlimax

1. Jericho's return. He may have thought it was innovative staying silent for a month, I just thought it was incredibly lame. I was a huge advocate of the first night back, thought it was a stroke of genius, but it didn't need to be continued. Disappointing that the cryptic videos were all bullshit too.

2. Tensai. OMGZ he's a supaworka now, he waz awsum in Japan!!!!111 He has been fucking shit. I actually think he was in better shape and had better matches as A-Train in 2003.

3. The anonymous Raw GM. I think this was revealed at Raw 1000... it had been forgotten about for months by WWE but I was intrigued when they remembered... Hornswoggle? Way to tie up a loose end.

Funniest moment

WWE fail so badly at comedy, I can't think of anything that really split me. Hug It Out was as good as it got.

- Best bang for your buck

Covers breakout stars? Fuck it, Antonio Cesaro. I think his highlight vid from Main Event the other week alone sold me on him. Dunno why they took Aksana away, she was a great addition to the act, but he's doing just fine without her. He's gonna be big, and hopefully stop wrestling R-Truth soon, but I really enjoy his style.

Dolph Ziggler. Carries around a shiny briefcase, has improved in every area, but I can't help thinking he'll never be a constant main-event guy. Consistently a highlight of WWE shows in the ring, and lately out of it as well. He'll always have that upper-mid card enhancement role, he's too good at it.

Sin Cara. I've really become a fan, stellar matches lately. Some will always hate for his botches pre-injury run but since teaming with Rey, he's really put it together in tag and singles matches.

Best non-wrestler

Paul Heyman

- Poster of the year

No Way Out 2012, such great design.

- GTFO

1. Khali

2. Hornswoggle

3. Jinder Mahal

Wrestlemania XXVIII

WWE TLC 2012

GTFO ***

maybe I'll give reasons here

The Miz - fuck off, fuck off, fuck off you prick. Hes not funny, hes not entertaining. Everything is so forced. a few years ago it seemed like he was a natural on the microphone, now everything with him is so forced, so scripted and just not in any way entertaining. The attempt to make him a cocky, funny, wise cracking face has pushed me over the edge.

Alberto Del Rio - One hell of an in ring performer, but stale beyond belief. For his in ring stuff to matter his character has to matter and it doesnt. Nobody cares about him, he sparks apathy from the crowd and his ring announcer is far more charasmatic and entertaining than him.

Rob Van Dam - There was a time when Rob Van Dam was cool, its not 2012 though. They might have found a spot for him in the X-Division now but that doesnt make up for the rest of the year where he largely seems uninspired, un-enthusiastic and goes through the motions in the ring.

I wish I could've fit Sid in. I'd spent pretty much the whole three days making jokes about how it was Sid's time to my disinterested missus AND THEN IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED! I lost my shit that night.

Along with the three I nominated, there was only 2 or 3 other moments this year which turned me into the 11-year-old mark child that I so dearly want to be when I watch wrestling, so special nominations must go to:

Brock Lesnar's return. Even though I knew about it beforehand, it still heightened my anticipation for THAT moment when the music hit. Even as a recap on Superstars, it was brilliant.

Brodus' debut, mainly because I was in a pub Friday teatime when the Raw repeat was on and everyone in the pub was glued to the screen in absolute delight at the Funkasaurus.
