Minor news items that don't deserve a thread

There just seems to be too many people coming froward to say what a massive twat this guy was for it not to be true.

Not the biggest part of this story of course but again Jericho comes out of it looking like a bit of a dickhead similar to the CM Punk podcast fallout.

At a training seminar, where students paid $100 a person to be in the ring & learn, I witnessed DeMott call a Middle Eastern trainee "Aladdin", "terrorist", and "fat f-ck" multiple times. During a bump drill that was nowhere near safe for a green trainee to be doing, he just embarrassed and humiliated him. When anyone else did the drill correctly, he'd turn to this guy and just bash him. When I did the drill, he said "Look, even the girl can bump better than the terrorist!". This continued to the end of the session where he told everyone good job, except this guy, and told him to "f-cking quit and go back to building bombs." It was completely uncalled for and made everyone uncomfortable.

Stories of him being a hard ass and a bit of a bully is one thing. This is just asking for trouble.

Oh!

When Dante Dash referred to his finishing move as the Davey boy, as it was utilized by the late Davey Smith who died tragically, Coach Demott makes the following comment, “The Davey Boy? What turning blue and dropping dead on the lawn?”

He debuted in 1990 so a few years on the indies before being a jobber to the stars in WCW and then a nobody in WWE.

I only trained for a couple of years at a local promotion and didn't get anywhere so I'm hardly an authority, but there's definitely a difference between training being functionally hard for reasons of cardio and getting bumps right, and training like what happened at the WCW Power Plant where they actively ran off potential stars (like they did with Batista).

Where I trained they have Robbie Brookside in every now and then and from what I hear, he works the guys hard - but again, there's nothing wrong with that when you're testing guys cardio and you're trying to get people up to an elite level.

It's different when it's just insecure posteuring to show how "real" this fake playfighting sport is (and unfortunately I've seen that elsewhere too.)

Wrestling is hard enough as it is, you'll weed out the people who won't make it by just how naturally taxing it is on its own. You probably don't need the headache of a Bill Demott in 2015.

Brookside is a fantastic trainer. He works you hard but as you say, to test your physical (and mental) limits. Absolute sound guy. It's no surprise he's now training the WWE guys. You can imagine Triple H likes him, what with the Regal association.

The thing is that you can be a man or woman who can understand the inner workings of an athletic discipline whilst not having made it to the very top yourself if you understand and (importantly) transfer this to those, as a coach, who are capable of putting in high class performances. In very few sports does it be the case that its best performers also usually turn out to the best coaches as well. Soccer is a strong example - very few of the top managers made significant inroads during their playing careers. Bring that into wrestling, and it's perfectly possible to be one of the most respected coach or trainer in the business despite not ever headlining Wrestlemania, or even being just a JTTS on WCW Worldwide in the 90's. The majority of trainers that are well regarded in pro wrestling often either had extensive indie experience and/or were solid midcard or undercard performers in the WWE, WCW and/or ECW.

The problem is though that Bill DeMott, even allowing for him mainly being known as being a WCW undercard JTTS talent not being a hindrance to being employed as a head coach by the WWE, he pretty much came across as a bit of a cunt, others say that he was pretty much that in an industry that has moved on from the Powerplant days, so if he hadn't gone and news went forward to WWE shareholders and sponsors, some explaining would have had to be done.

So Tommy Dreamer is going after internet pirates

"I have to post something that's been eating away at me since Houe of Hardcore 7. It was my 1st IPPV. It was my most successful showing of my brand of what I feel professional wrestling is all about. I couldn't have been happier with how the show came across. Most IPPVS have delays or lost feeds or audio problems. No negative feedback.

A fan told me about an illegal streaming server show MY IPPV. I actually contacted the site they said they are a Third party hosting site it is not illegal in their country China so go after the the Daily Motion YouTube and other sites that are showing it & to go F*CK off. Well that put me on a warpath. I know that some countries have no laws with regards to the internet. So if you live in those countries you have immunity from my rage. Anyway I kept on monitoring how many views of my show & it just got me madder & sadder everyday. So I took action . Hired a firm that goes after these people & here is the info. 1.I can do nothing to the actual people who onw the site. However I was able to get the site shut down.

Here is the bigger news those scumbags give up the people that ordered them. Email addresses & other info. They also sell that info. To other spam sites. The revenge news for me was most people would get a virus or expose their computer. Remember no laws so when that happens or they take your info you are F*CKED. The end of the day it was 66thousand illegal downloads if you do the math 66,000 X$15 equals $990,000.

That changes my life. That changes the landscape of the wrestling buisness. I have a huge long range plan for wrestlers & wrestling fans. With that money it happens and that was just on 1 torrent site. I understand economicallyat times its hard to come up w/ $15. One time I wanted to watch the Royal Rumble my dad said I ain't paying I got 4 of my friends they all kicked in $10 and we had a great time. For the people that support me.I love you so much. For the people that watched my show illegally thanks for the interest I'm honored that 66thousand of you did. I give you a pass.

I have hired a company to go after these people & sites & know they give you up. This company works for a cut so they are ruthless & send your info to other companies if they want to go after you on other movies or PPV events you may have illegally viewed. When you watch a movie or DVD plays & they have those piracy isn't a victimless crime advertisements and you think of those BIG companies like WWE UFC SONY Universal DONT CARE. Well I'm a wrestling fan I have always considered us family so here is a picture of victims who suffer for it. THanks for the support I love you guys. Looking forward to a great show on Saturday. Please share this & spread the word."

What shite. I bet about 3 people out of those supposed 66,000 would have put the money down if it was a straight choice between paying for it and giving it a miss. Also, there's no fucking way on earth 66,000 people streamed Dreamers show. It never pops up on the main streaming sites, thus you'd have to be finding the links behind dodgy paywall websites via PM. Its such a niche show, nobody bothers streaming it. TNA dont even get 66,000 streams for Impact. Dreamers isn't for his indy shows.

Best thing is his bit about getting virus. Fucking hilarious. As MOM said, pure Grandad stuff.
