Marshmallo
Saying that, I see no real reason to fix it. It's not as if one particular outcome is more desirable over the other, is it? Same reason you'd fix a tennis match or a frame of snooker - gambling money.
seanz25
The tweets from a journalist are interesting though, said he went into a bookmakers named LV sportsbook or something, spoke to the manager who said they'd had unheard of amounts betting for a bellator event and that 3/4 people had come in and hit the max for a single line 20 times, spunking 20 grand on DaDa tonight. Take that for what you will granted, but the odds have noticeably changed. Edited February 19, 2016 by seanz25
David
Â Saying that, I see no real reason to fix it. It's not as if one particular outcome is more desirable over the other, is it? Same reason you'd fix a tennis match or a frame of snooker - gambling money. Â Â Yeah, I was meaning from the point of view of the promotion. There's no reason for Bellator to be asking for a certain result in the way that EliteXC did in a roundabout way when Kimbo fought Seth Petruzelli. Â The tweets from a journalist are interesting though, said he went into a bookmakers named LV sportsbook or something, spoke to the manager who said they'd had unheard of amounts betting for a bellator event and that 3/4 people had come in and hit the max for a single line 20 times, spunking 20 grand on DaDa tonight. Paid Members Big Benny HG Posted February 19, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted February 19, 2016 SkyBet have also stopped all betting on the Kimbo-Dada fight. Something's obviously bent.
jimufctna24
This has happened with Bellator before. Â There was a rumor that did the rounds on Twitter before Bellator 120 that a fight was going to be fixed. After the show, most assumed the rumor alluded to Ortiz vs Shlmenko. Â There were however no details as to who was involved in the alleged fix. Whether it was just the camps, or whether Bellator had a hand in it. Guy Bifkin
TBH the fact it might be a work makes the event even more fascinating for me.
seanz25
Add unibet the UK's best/biggest site for MMA gambling to the list of firms removing the DaDa fight.

If so I wouldn't put it past him to have been involved in some way in a fix, or at least in the know. He seemed slimy as fuck to me. Wouldn't think Coker would be involved in something like that though.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted February 19, 2016 Author Paid Members Share Posted February 19, 2016 Dada 5000 is pimping the fact that Dawg Fight 2 is being made so him going in and beating Kimbo would put a lot of focus on him going forward and shines a light on his movie, so who knows? All the pre-fight talk from Dada revolves around Kimbo leaving where he came from too, which ultimately will be the setting for Dawg Fight 2. Like Bifkin said, the suspicion around this just heightens the excitment for me MMA has always been about the soap opera and intrigue for me and this a great little storyline. Not quite sure what Kimbo gets from this though other than money? If he gets "KO'd" by Dada in a shonky looking fight it pretty much destroys his reputation. Â Paddypower has Kimbo listed as a 1/2 favorite, that's dropped considerably since yesterday.
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted February 19, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted February 19, 2016 Kimbo should take the fix money then just knock Dada out anyway. What of it? Â This Dada twat deserves a slap for the crap name and even worse haircut. He looks like a black version of the Red Rooster with that Tommy Cooper fez-looking hairdo. Â Â I dunno, Kimbo's trading on youtube vids & looking scary. Everyone knows he's rubbish but looks badass & has natural charisma. Nobody's taking Kimbo seriously as contender so he's literally got nothing to lose in a situation like this. Â Still might chuck a tenner on Kimbo & Gracie. jimufctna24
I have read this afternoon that the key reason Royce is fighting is due to him facing serious tax evasion charges.   There was a rumor that did the rounds on Twitter before Bellator 120 that a fight was going to be fixed. After the show, most assumed the rumor alluded to Ortiz vs Shlmenko. There were however no details as to who was involved in the alleged fix. Whether it was just the camps, or whether Bellator had a hand in it. I can't remember but was this in the days of Bjorn Rebney. If so I wouldn't put it past him to have been involved in some way in a fix, or at least in the know. He seemed slimy as fuck to me. Wouldn't think Coker would be involved in something like that though.  Bellator 120 took place in May 2014. Rebney officially left in June 2014. I'm not sure how much Rebney was involved at that stage though. Viacom had Coker lined up to take over long before May 2014, and it wasn't kept a secret. Frank Shamrock was attending meetings with Strikeforce T-Shirts - signalling Coker's appointment.  If Rebney was pulling the strings at that show, I wouldn't put it past him either. Pure speculation on my part, but he might have tampered with fights in a last ditch attempt to save his position. Ortiz winning did benefit the company from a commercial perspective.  Today's rumours have a lot more meat to them. If there is something fishy going on, I agree with David and Wand that Bellator/Coker won't be involved. It will be a deal between camps. Surely Bellator would prefer Kimbo as the bigger name, to win the fight. Plus, it doesn't strike me as the sort of fight where they would want to do a rematch. It's a fun novelty fight.
