KingOfMetal Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 could be interesting, in a 'never in a trillion years but bless them for trying' kind of way Quote
KingOfMetal Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Lamb Of God have confirmed that guitarist Mark Morton will not be partaking in their upcoming European dates - including their UK tour with Huntress and Decapitated - owing to a "family emergency". The news was confirmed during the band's first show of the tour. Quote
David Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Iced Earth's new album really reminds me of "...And Justice For All" in places, which is no bad thing. Really liking it on first listen. I'll have to give it a listen. Quote
Paid Members eugenespeed Posted January 7, 2014 Paid Members Posted January 7, 2014 Currently listening to this. It's Metallica's "And Justice for All" album, but with the bass enhanced. Sounds a lot better. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted January 7, 2014 Author Paid Members Posted January 7, 2014 really looking forward to that Lamb of God documentary. I was gonna goto Bristol leg of the tour but i completely forgot about it, if there's tickets left on the night i may still go. Quote
Twatters Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I'm going to the Southampton gig on Sunday. I've seen both bands before but i think i'm more excited about seeing Decapitated. Plus i might miss some of Lamb of God cos the last ferry back to the Island is at 2250! Quote
Paid Members Dead Mike Posted January 10, 2014 Paid Members Posted January 10, 2014 Download announcement on Monday at 6pm. However, I'm more excited that 'The Old Firm Casuals' are looking like they're doing a UK tour in August to coincide with their appearance at Rebellion Fest in Blackpool. They've only announcement Bannermans in Edinburgh on Aug 20th thus far. Hoping for Manchester, L'Pool or Stoke. Quote

Paid Members waters44 Posted January 13, 2014 Paid Members Posted January 13, 2014 Saw Lamb of God last night in Southampton. The Undertow was insane, one of the best live songs ive ever seen. Decapitated are a good little band too, tempted to go to the Bristol show now. Quote
KingOfMetal Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Biohazard, Orphaned Land, Revamp and Aborted added to Bloodstock 2014 Quote
Paid Members Dead Mike Posted January 15, 2014 Paid Members Posted January 15, 2014 Reports from the Lamb of God tour have been universally positive, really looking forward to Sunday! That 'Old Firm Casuals' tour I mentioned......... Aug 11th - The Fleece, Bristol Aug 12th - The Cavern, Exeter Aug 14th - The Hairy Dog, Derby Aug 15th - Venue tbc, London Aug 18th - Star & Garter, Manchester Aug 20th - Bannermans, Edinburgh Aug 21st - Audio, Glasgow Aug 24th - Thomas House, Dublin These are the dates I've found thus far but it looks pretty extensive so there's probably more to come. I'll be at Manchester at least, as a massive Rancid fan the thought of seeing Lars Frederikson in a tiny room above a pub makes me rock hard. Quote
Merzbow Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 http://mapofmetal.com/#/home A great little map/timeline of metal and most of its subgenres. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted January 20, 2014 Author Paid Members Posted January 20, 2014 new tune from The Haunted, first to feature Marco Aro who rejoined on vocals last year...great stuff, i always preferred Aro straight forward hardcore style vocals to Dolving's experimental stuff. Need to see them this year. Quote
Merzbow Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) Not sure if there are any Slowdive fans here but it looks as if they are going to reform in 8 days, there's a new band twitter with all the members official twitters following and they've been counting down the days with Y2J-like cryptic numbers to something. Along with Joy Division and MBV they're the greatest rock band ever in my eyes. Edited January 21, 2014 by Merzbow Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted January 21, 2014 Author Paid Members Posted January 21, 2014 anyone else goto the Kataklysm/Krisiun/Fleshgod Apocalypse tour? bit of an international affair, i went to the Bristol show last Saturday and it was quality. Fleshgod Apocalypse were decent but not really my kind of thing, they drew a big crowd but im never really into death metal bands that add synth's and operatic style vocals, it just aint my bag. Krisiun are about as straight up and old school death metal band you can get, great straight forward death metal. But Kataklysm just blew the fucking roof off. Whereas Krisiun are strictly death metal, Kataklysm have a much more hook laden approach to the genre, the sound was stella and it was just fucking brilliant. It was my first gig of the year but it'll take something pretty special to top it. Anyone else make a show? Quote
