Not only is Worlds Collide taking place on the same day as AEW All Out, with both shows happening in the Chicago area, but WWE have now also moved the start time so that Worlds Collide begins at exactly the same time as All Out.

They're so petty, it's actually kind of sad to see them use AAA as a pawn in this one sided war. I have issues with the watering down of AAA but there's no denying it's a super hot company right now, but TKO will ruin that at some point.

So this isn't actually being shown on TV or possibly anywhere live and might be a Club WWE exclusive after the fact?!

Seems a bit strange, especially if they changed the time of it to counter AEW.

Putting it on against them in the same city will hopefully (for them) harm the draw unless it sells out and I guess by putting it on Club WWE (fucking hell), it'll drive purchases and make a bit of money from the idiots bothering to stump for it.

Worth saying it's not been confirmed as airing on Club WWE, that's just a rumour for now. It might go that way but that same rumour also suggested YouTube might be the destination.

I can only imagine the rational for going h2h is to harm any additional ticket sales AEW might have released after selling out the initial setup. 

Just seems so petty and harmful to both products. Both shows have sold over 10k but that's up to 10k people who might have gone to the other show and can't do both. It's not going to hurt AEW on subs or on PPV unless they get some TV coverage sorted soon but even then, I think it's too late, as I said recently. 99% of the likely attendance is going or they aren't. 95% of the TV audience is watching or they aren't. If WWE had announced MITB against it months ago, they'd be properly countering. This is just some tit-for-tat for very little benefit and, IMO, harms this show worse than All Out because I think CM Punk in Chicago working for AAA probably does even better numbers with the 10k going to All Out added.

I'll be dead before this company is remotely likeable.

Wonder if they're thinking there might be people out there who had bought AEW tickets but would stick them on resale in favour of going to the WWE show (because Punk in Chicago), those tickets won't sell (because Punk in Chicago) leaving AEW with swathes of empty seats they can't shuffle people to cover?

generally I assume this kind of counter-programming is about monopolising markets as much as it is actively trying to push down ticket sales or views for AEW; I can see WWE reaching out to media outlets in Chicago and saying, "if you cover AEW, we're not giving you access to WWE" - either for this show, or for all shows for a set period.

"The Chicago tribune shares a bank account with it's Mother"

- CM Punk when it's reported there were two wrestling shows on in the area.

I do wonder if putting a block on media outlets would do absolutely anything though. There are other things to report and cover? Or just a case of they'd fold easily without thought.

Has WWE counter-programming AEW ever actually worked? All the examples that immediately spring to mind at best drew unfavourable comparisons whilst having little to no effect on AEW, and at worst blew up in their face spectacularly.

Even the most brainwashed wrestlers (Miz, Rollins, etc.) must feel pretty stupid that they’re now essentially running a house show that just so happens to be in the same town as the competition’s sold out pay per view.

They've confirmed the card now but there's still no confirmation on whether it will be on YouTube or exclusive to WWE Club.

I detest Rey Mysterio. Not sure this is the thread for it but his daft face popping up just triggered my loathing. It's been 20 years - insanely - but I've never gotten over his glomming of Eddie Guerrero's death to have his main event run and the horrible shit he was a part of. Honestly, some of the most disgusting on-screen crimes in wrestling history.

It's been such a long time since 2006 that that run and all the utter garbage he's been a part of since, like letting John Cena absolutely piss all over him the night after CM Punk left and that angle where a ping pong ball fell out of his mask - possibly the worst angle seen since wrestling has been televised - just dwarfs the memories of him being one of the most exhilirating wrestlers ever in the mid-90s and the early 2000s.

Even between those generational runs, he let them take his mask in WCW, wrestled for years looking like a 5 year old, was part of some of the worst factions I've ever seen and then put his mask back on for Vince's dosh. The little sellout.

Dom has become a decent enough worker (by the dreadfully low standards of WWE) but the last time I was watching much, he was awful and green as grass, and Rey was out there working in slow-motion with his god awful kid in tow. Utterly painful stuff. 

Feel better for having got it off my chest. Fuck you, Rey.
