Apologies, if I can be slightly self indulgent rather than sticking this somewhere else.

As many of you know, I lost my son last year and it's been quite the journey. Everyone has been so supportive here and I'll always be grateful for that, so I just wanted to share something that's pretty special to me if you've got a spare few minutes:

I've been consulting with the hospice where my son passed away and working with them to develop their five year care strategy. This is massively important to inform strategy in the correct way i.e. by people who actually use the services.

More than anything I'm just incredibly grateful for the opportunity to talk about him, share his story and know it's going to have a lasting impact going forward.

I know it's not as fun as me making wanker signs at Pat at 'Mania, but I'm definitely more proud of this.

That’s a great video, @DavidB6937. You spoke really well and it was lovely to see all the photos of Wilfred. He was such a cutie! That video will do wonders for the hospice, I’m sure.

What an amazing video. You're incredibly brave David and thank you for sharing your story.

As has been said before, David, the fact that you’re even able to wake up and go through life after what you’ve been through is incredible enough - but to see what you’re doing for others who’ve been through or are going through a similar situation is nothing short of astonishing. I hope you take comfort knowing that you’re keeping Wilfred’s memory going through your compassion. You’re a true inspiration.

Thanks all. I know it's not the usual fun content on here but you've all genuinely been a part of my journey this past year and I'm very grateful for that. You're a great bunch of people.

In the hopefully last update of "oh god there's my face AGAIN" I did a little piece for ITV news on Friday:

Hopefully that'll cut straight to it.

The hospice have asked me to join a consultancy panel for the 5 year plan where they'd check in and get opinions etc which I'm really proud to be a part of.

It's incredibly hard to find something satisfying enough when it comes to trying to do him proud but this definitely feels like the right thing to do.

For what it’s worth, there’s not a single person on here who would say you’ve not done him proud. It’s so easy to say things that sound like hyperbole on a forum, but I can’t overstate how much I respect and admire you for everything you have done here. I don’t use this word lightly - but it’s nothing short of heroic. You’re absolutely incredible.

That has genuinely moved me mate. Massive respect for sharing it. They do such amazing work. I live in Suffolk so will have a look at donating. Take care.

A Dad is someone who should set an example of how to conduct yourself and be a good human being.  You’re blowing that out of the park in his memory, well done buddy.
