It’s a shame Hunter only allows himself to be interviewed by his own employees in a secret bunker nowadays, because I’d love someone to ask him what on Earth he was thinking scripting the high ticket prices into the show itself.

A medium literally build on developing Pavlovian responses from your crowd and you script your top babyface to admit you’re pricing people out. Of course any mention of tickets going forward is going to be filled with snarky comments about the prices being too high.

Once again, I am not campaigning to bring Vince back, nor suggesting that today’s product is anywhere near as bad as 2019. It is amazing though that even at his most demented and antagonistic, with a product specifically designed to make you view the company itself as the heel, even Vince wasn’t stupid enough to make an angle out of, “we’re mugging you off at the box office.”

Let’s see if we can get them to cheer for us breaking our highest gate records! OK OK too easy.

OK let’s see if we can get THE FRENCH to cheer for how much we’ve charged them for this B-show. LMAO they’re still going for it.

OK what if an on screen performer says IN A PROMO that we’re charging too much and then we ask them to sign up to another paid subscription. Fuck that’s hot.

Next step is Hunter in the classic black hoodie ninja outfit actually stealing fans’ wallets during the show. It’s one only way he’ll be able to get off.

It is a money grab by TKO to prey on fans we would call marks.

I will say this though it might be worth the money to some if they reall want to get tickets all the time or they want merch that the casual fan can't get.

I wont be doing it obviously because I haven't bought a WWE t-shirt in years and I would never want to pay for tickets when the prices are so high.

Providing they actually deliver monthly benefits, I wouldn’t think someone was a sap for subscribing to this if they’re a big WWE fan. The price seems, at face value, reasonable enough. I pay more for individual Patreon subscriptions, although that is to support independent creators, which I’m happy to do.

There’s zero chance I’ll subscribe to this myself because TKO is a pretty fucking evil company, but if this adds to someone’s enjoyment of wrestling, fair enough, I won’t judge.

But isn't everything a money grab? I don't see people being marks if they want to do this. If it's worth the money for them then why not? Not like there haven't been clubs for a billion other things over the years that people have subscribed to!

In the end no one is forced to do it and if that's how they choose to spend their money then that's up to them.

Just like I'd never spend hundreds on a belt etc but fans do. But that's their money and their enjoyment right?

I want to judge them, I really do, but this is no different to the 'memberships' that all football clubs offer these days. It's more expensive compared to most, but.. American.

This isn't a TKO thing, it's not a WWE thing. It's just a thing. Even down to the detail where the entity flogging the membership touts all the various benefits (content, events, merch etc), and yet people only ever buy them for better access to tickets...

So, once WWE are back to actually selling out events this might be useful to some.
