A decent episode all round l, however I did flag a bit towards the end and skipped Maya v Aminata. 2 and a half hours for the weekly TV is too long for me, but I’m probably in the minority on that.

Great to see Sting Jr back and great to hear the reaction to him as well. He’s green as grass obviously, but the crowd are with him and willing him to do well which is awesome to hear.

Marina should absolutely batter Mone, both in kayfabe and shoot, but Mone will have no doubt developed some world class MMA skills whenever the match happens.

Bucks getting absolutely battered was the most enjoyable thing I’ve seen them do in years. Lesnar has Suplex City, Davis can have Piledriver County and just drop Matt Jackson on his head until the end of time.

Great debut for Dragunov, he’s going to be an excellent addition to the roster. I wouldn’t even worry about rushing him into a feud at this point, just use him like this until the CC comes around

My last time watching Dragunov was on NXT:UK and I could never fully buy into him. In-ring, I always thought he was enjoyable enough, but almost everything else about his presentation reminded me of a little boy in his underpants playing at being a wrestler. Seeing him on this show, age has helped with that somewhat - he definitely looks a bit cooler - but I still wish he'd carry himself with more weight. I find the air-conducting deeply uncool and think it makes him look like a massive dork. Literally no better than when you see clips of people at the Air Guitar World Championship. If intensity is your thing, be intensely focused on your match and your opponent. Leave the air-conducting to fans and just try to look the business. If he doesn't, for me at least, he absolutely screams "relegated to The Conglomeration within a few months". Maybe an odd-couple tag-team with Orange Cassidy, seeing as they're basically inversions of each other (which I'm sure could be great fun, to be fair). I genuinely hope he's in the C2 and proves me wrong though.

I watched this! My first AEW show since March. It was interesting to see how much has changed and how much has stayed the same.

I can't remember if the staging was the same the last time I watched, but I hated it. Those giant screens on top and either side of the entranceway just screamed WWE to me. Tone it down a bit and bring the tunnels back!

Mark Davis always seemed to have a ton of potential but something was missing. Whatever it was, he's found it. He looked the absolute business out there.

Orange Cassidy is far too good to get stuck in this Conglomeration/Dogs/Bang Bang Gang quagmire, and I still can't engage with Jay White despite the fact he has all the tools. As soon as the bell rings I just lose interest in him.

The Mercedes/Marina stuff was top drawer and Mercedes seems to have gone from strength to strength. I absolutely love her.

I love Jon Moxley too, but when I stopped watching he was in a run of middling Continental Eliminator matches and here he was in a middling Continental Eliminator match. I'd be happy for him to drop that belt soon and move on to something else.

Holy shit, where did this Nick Wayne come from! Funny as fuck, this was probably segment of the show for me. His feud with Greg The Hammer Valentine looks to have been a good one. It's an ideal pairing really as this new Nick Wayne character seems a stones throw away from Jerichos WCW persona.

Persephone and Britt Baker is a very odd pairing, and I'm not sold on Maya World off this appearance either. Hearing she was TBS champ at some point came as a surprise.

Cracking main event and Ilja is going to have some absolute belters on this roster.

Really great show for the most part and they've done enough to reel me back in for now, the bastards.

- Nick Wayne gets out of a limo.

- Pulls a mugging face that would get him thrown out of any struggling for membership acting school.

- Seemingly senses without looking that Jericho is printed on the production truck behind him.

- Reveals his surprise custom made 'NICK WAYNE BEAT CHRIS JERICHO' t-shirt.

- Excalibur immediately mentions - complete with on screen graphic - that it's available for purchase on shopAEW.com

- Pyro flies in the arena

That's the best encapsulation of total pro wrestling bollocks I've seen in ages.

I think it’s easy enough to explain away. He had his driver pull up beside the truck deliberately so he could do all of that.

As far as the t-shirt goes, it was only a surprise to the viewers, clearly everyone else knew about it.

The pyro wasn’t magic, Wayne had organised it all because he’s an arrigant prick - how else would the cameraperson know to be there when he arrived?

Wrestling can be full of logic gaps, but I don’t think there were any here!

Not sure this one needs defending Twoster! Though maybe my original post wasn't clear that I enjoyed the segment.

Even with your explanation it surely falls under pro wrestling bollocks in kayfabe terms. Everything about it was blatantly absurd, I would have thought.

For the love of the wrestling gods, DO NOT PUT DRAGANOV IN THE DCF.

Fun show.

Assuming the woman's brawl is building towards a Blood and Guts match.

Nick Wayne cracked me up but I still don’t see him getting out of the midcard.

Yes, I’m so used to ‘wrestling bollocks’ being applied quite justifiably to WWE bollocks, whereas I thought this was really well done! I’m glad you enjoyed it, but you’d have had every right not to!

Is it just me who plans a firework celebration and has t-shirts made every time I get one over on a colleague, then?

That's ok. Not everyone needs to be a main eventer.

Enjoyed Collision this week.

Im still not sold on the mcmg vs ftr matches something just doesnt feel quite right with them but will see how the 3rd match goes

Death riders vs shane Taylor promotions was a lot of fun and I enjoyed the women's tag main event

I think blood and guts should be a great couple of hours

The womens B&G is so weak they shouldn't even bother. Either book something properly for it or don't do it. It shouldn't be just an annual thing for the sake of it. And I'd much prefer if they just did the one rather than two.

Yeah, I hate that AEW have gone down the WWE route of having to have men and women have the exact same match on the same show.

It should just just be where the story is without shoehorning another one on, if the men have the wargames match this year, then make an effort to build up a women's one next year.

The cynical take on the timing this year is that it is the US midterm elections are the day before. NXT is likely to be moved to a head-to-head with Dynamite and regardless news channels will be pulling in more people than usual talking about the results.

As its two weeks before Full Gear, the matches becomes a placeholder to keep the PPV feuds ticking over.
