Christ I hope the idea of Swerve and Hangman teaming again doesn't happen, it should never have happened the first time and definitely shouldn't now. They should be enemies forever. I'm hoping they haven't mentioned them teaming together the first time means they have swept it under the carpet and pretended it never happened because they have realised it was a stupid idea.

Fair enough everyone feels differently on Fletcher, but am surprised that folk think there's a possibility he could win, I'm going to say there isnt a chance in hell he does.

Sure he will get a run one day though.

Yeah, but that's overlooking that a lot of the appeal of the feud to a bunch of people is the idea that they're best enemies ever, in a Kate Beaton 'Nemesis' kind of way. If anything, Swerve is like this because they're not teaming.

I couldn't disagree more - they teamed together last time to overcome a greater evil, and the way they built to it, with Swerve admitting he deserved what he got, was magical. The bad blood didn't disappear, but there is and always will be a bizarre somewhat toxic connection between the two. Teaming doesn't make them best friends; rather, it means they accept that no matter what they do and where their careers go, their actions towards one another means they will forever be linked.

It's just not for me.

I liked the way Swerve begrudgingly game Hangman the chain at All In for the win, and the slight look of respect afterwards, but in my opinion that should be it.

It's mental to me that Darby is still the same guy he was when I stopped watching three years ago. And while usually that sentence might read as a bit of an indictment, I mean it as a compliment here. The act is the same. I know he's been the World Champ in the interim, but basically he feels like the same guy he was when AEW started and he's somehow not stale. Every match he's in, he somehow delivers something it feels like I've not seen before. Maybe it's a creative spot, maybe it's just the slight angle at which he takes a bump, but it's almost always something. He deserves a world of credit. It's crazy. How many guys in American wrestling have stayed babyface for seven years straight and not felt like a total drag at some point? I mean, I know guys have had longer babyface runs, but someone like Rey Mysterio, for example - there were long periods in which I was more than done with his act (despite his obvious ability). With Darby that's still not proven the case.

Admittedly, it's possible I only feel this way because I wasn't watching for a fair while. Do you guys feel the same or have there been periods over these past few years that Darby's act has felt like it's been running on fumes?

Excellent episode, that. Action packed, loads of great stuff. The highlight being Claudio launching a bin at Austin Gunns then catching it perfectly after it bounced off his head.

Three things though:

1) could have done without Fletcher vs Perry. I like Jack to an extent but he wrestles every match like he's main eventing a PPV and he's Kenny Omega. I wish he would tone it all done and work as a sympathetic, underdog. His matches would be a lot better. You could have left this match off the show and just kept the Fletcher promo for the same result and either made the show shorter or used that time for promos, angles etc.

2) I love the Swerve story. Two soft ex-WWE guys who came for fun have got themselves in big trouble by aligning with a fucking psychopath with no limits while Hangman tries to calm everything down but Brody King is out for blood. Great angle. However I hate the way the Swerve video was shot. It should have felt chaotic and real and shot on a phone(like the Jokers video threat in The Dark Knight) but instead they went for "aura" and  "cinematic" which took the wind out of it, in my opinion.

3) they've always been pretty bad at this but just following and building angles through the show. After the New Level angle what happened? Did Brody King find Bandido? Is Bandido dead? Are New Level trying to get in touch with Swerve? What's Hangman doing? Just a couple of 45-60 second segments post angle spread over the show really helps sell an angle and make the shows feel more coherent. Everyone disappearing after a big angle always feels so weird.

Honestly might be my favourite spot of the year - then there was the speed of that big swing he did, actually insane. The death of PAC has made me consider more closely people like Claudio, who are consistently brilliant yet I had never really thought of them as being one of the best of all time. He absolutely is, though - consistently creative, explosive and exciting to watch.

On top of that, I don't watch the guy and think of him as ex-WWE, even though he was very firmly established there. He's really shown his ability in AEW without having to significantly reinvent himself.

Does anyone think the stretcher job on Claudio was so that he can come back at Full Gear with Sheamus in tow?

Given the difference in numbers between the two factions, it immediately made me think that the Death Riders would end up bringing in at least one new member. I'd love to see Danielson join their ranks one more time too, but I imagine that's unlikely.
