Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted June 4 Paid Members Posted June 4 Oddly, the first thing I think of whenever Fully Loaded 99 comes up is Michael Hayes teaming with the Hardys to wrestle the Acolytes. That little spell where PS Hayes was wrestling again always fascinates me. Even weirder that him and Tracy Smothers actually had a singles match on WWF TV around that time, a Freebird vs a Southern Boy, smack bang in the middle of the Attitude Era. Of course I had to look up Hayes age because of this post and was gobsmacked to learn he was only 40 in 1999. He looked mid 50s when he was Dok Hendrix in 1995! Quote

jm29195 Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Fully Loaded was one of my favourite Attitude era ppvs. In particular I loved the Undertaker/ Austin brawl. Even though Taker was knackered at this point, it was brilliant in doing exactly what they set out to do in the storyline, like a less famous version of the Over the Edge 98 main event with all sorts of periphery storyline stuff and gimmicks in the match combining to deliver a great climax. On the vhs release and I think when it went on the network, there was an extra 15 minutes of brawling after the show went off the air too. Cracking stuff! A shame that Vince came back a few weeks later mind 🤣 It was also at this show I think where Bradshaw annihilated Jeff Hardy mid-aerial move with a clothesline from hell. Ouch! Quote

Got to be the best match on an IYH surely? I'd say the main of Final Four, and Shawn - Taker from Badd Blood come close, but this is near enough perfection isn't it? Quote

After that the order would probably change depending on the day for me but I’d definitely have the Final Four headliner, Shawn vs Jarrett from IYH 2, Bret vs Bulldog from IYH 5 and Shawn vs Diesel from IYH 7 somewhere at the top of the list. Shawn vs Mankind from Mind Games would have to rank right up there as well actually. Man, I’m a Bret guy all day but Shawn really was killing it in 95/96 wasn’t he? Quote

Never mind IYH, the first HIAC is the second best match in the company's (televised) history. It's perfect brutality, benefits from an incredible, brilliant build, a great finish and debut and a real legacy from the fallout. Canadian Stampede has the best atmosphere of any match they've ever televised. The match isn't perfect but the finish is such a brilliant moment. It's easily close to five stars though. Quote
