Paid Members Callum1993 Posted February 3, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 3, 2025 I know she’s been off for a while but for me it’s Becky Lynch. Obviously for a period of time 2018-2019 where she was the hottest thing in wrestling but a lot of time has past and she’s still doing the same schtick. Shes never been great in ring and has seemingly gotten worse on the mic over the last few years. They obviously tried something different with the heel turn and ‘Big Time Becks’ but the gimmick was essentially the same as Seth Rollins’ I.e dressing in ridiculous clothes with no idea what exactly the character is meant to be. I’m sure she’ll be back for Mania but hopefully there’ll be some sort of switch up or character change otherwise I really don’t care to see it. Quote
Paid Members I Bent My Wookie Posted February 3, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 3, 2025 Rey Mysterio. There was something genuinely possible to have him put Dom over at WrestleMania a few years back and ride off into the Hall of Fame sunset, and instead they went for the crowd friendly moment. He's still outstanding, especially for his age and especially for his injury record but the knowledge that he's on his way to the ring usually has meant in the last few years having to deal with a random assortment of rubbish LWO members, feuds that kept repeating themselves and just filler or fast forward moments. For someone with a legacy like his, it's starting to feel like the only reason he's still wrestling is now all the kids have grown up he'll just be spending his days in the garden shed the wife's bought for him as he was annoying her round the house. simonworden Posted February 4, 2025 Posted February 4, 2025 There's a fair chunk of the roster that haven't progressed, changed their gimmick in any meaningful way or done anything I could care less about since 2020 and a few before that. The Street Profits, they've had the thing with Lashley and did something. At the rumble but they feel the same as they did back in NXT, they are there, wrestle and do nothing else for me. The ship has sadly sailed with them. 4 years of nothing on the roster, time to go. Akira Tozawa and Otis - both being doing comedy bits for years now, less effective than R Truth. Once again just taking up space on TV that someone new could be tried out. Finn Balor - Yes he's been at the top end of the 2nd biggest stable in a few years but he hasn't done much of note in that time. In fact he's made himself more bland and less of a top star than ever over the last 2 years. Time to go before he decides doing the Demon thingy as a face against Dom in a good thing. You know Triple H will lap that up. Bayley - supposed to be one of the top female stars but to me has little to offer in the spot. Not a great promo in a face role, doesn't particularly light up the ring anymore. Could be a heel again but we saw most of what could be offered. Time to go home. Quote
Mr Butternut Squash Posted February 4, 2025 Posted February 4, 2025 (edited) The New Day. I had hope the heel turn would win me back over, but it's rubbish and they're the same stale undercard act they've been forever. They seem like good eggs and I appreciate they want to stick together but I don't care about anything they do. Woods as a singles guy is way more appealing to me. Paid Members Lorne Malvo Posted February 4, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 4, 2025 AEW has got a fair few. Wrestlers I like but due to the old Tony Khan booking trope of 'give them a title match every few months but don't give them any actual development/stories' they just fill me with apathy when they turn up. Kyle O'Reilly and Tomohiro Ishii being the biggest culprits. Quote

How he ever escaped NXT is a mystery to me. Ishii is fine in small doses. I've just had my fill of people like him and Shibata and Romero who pop in, we get told how legendary they are, they normally lose, and then they piss off. The novelty has long worn off. I do like that AEW recognises there is a big world of wrestling out there but it has to enhance their shows and generally any talk of other companies' titles or talent doesn't. Quote
