RIDDUM_N_STYLE Posted January 30, 2025 Posted January 30, 2025 So one of my favourite parts of the Rumble is the surprise entrants, be it someone who’s been long term injured or retired, NXT talent, past talent coming back for a one shot deal, a big debut or a return to the company or, in the case of the last two women’s matches, a champion from another company With that said, what is everyone’s wish list for this years matches, a top 5 if you will, with the criteria being as follows (with reasons if you wish) 1 from NXT 1 injury/long term absence return 1 alum 1 TNA 1 debut or re-sign My lists are Men’s NXT - Trick Williams Return - Randy Orton Alum - Matt Cardona TNA - Joe Hendry Debut/Re-Sign - Ricky Starkz Women’s NXT - Roxanne Perez Return - Becky Lynch Alum - Victoria (so she gets a crowd pop) TNA - Masha Slamovich Debut/Re-Sign - Jordynne Grace (guest last year but now officially signed to the company) Quote
simonworden Posted January 31, 2025 Posted January 31, 2025 With the star power in the men's match I genuinely think it needs very little added to it. I don't particularly have a wish list either but I'd guess AJ will be the return, Henry will be the TNA surprise and Trick Williams will be the NXT lad getting his call up to WWE lower card land. For the Women's one. I don't think Jordynne Grace will be in the Rumble unless she is either winning or involved in a big angle. Her appearance this year won't pop anyone like last year as it's been done. She's done the surprise appearance thing in NXT as a face a few times too so I'm hoping she returns as a prominent heel. I expect Lynch to return, probably at some point so they can have a Cena/Orton style stare down with Charlotte which once again they hope gets the Rock/Austin pop. Roxanne Perez looks to be going up to raw soon so I'd expect her. I would also expect them to shove Vaquer and Giulia in there. Victoria and Slamovich are good shouts too based on recent appearances, maybe Rosemary too. Quote

Worst look maybe ever in the business for a wrestler not presented as a comedy jobber like Colin Delaney or James Elsworth. I irrationally dislike him from the little I've seen of him on NXT to the point when we played 2K24 last night we put him in a triple threat with Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman and spent the entire thing crushing him. Would love to see him show up in the rumble and similarly see him get walloped. Throw him out, then as soon as he gets backstage have HHH hand him his pink slip. What a dork. Total loser. Women's - Who cares. I've not seen anyone down there in the few shows I've watched that has impressed me, and their women's champion is an enhancement talent from Covid Era AEW that's stuck a bit of makeup and cowskin on. God NXT is pants isn't it? Injury/long term absence return Men's - AJ Styles Long due back and the great build they've done with the roster in the short time he's been gone means he could hopefully slot right back in and pick up a decent feud along the way. No easier way to do that than have someone dump him out the Rumble. A big enough talent to pick up one of the current lot who doesn't end up with a big Mania match like Seth, Drew, Sami, etc. Women's - Jade Cargill I have no idea what's going on with her, maybe she's been off getting some in-ring training. She's a star though and her return should go down well and lead into something big with either Naomi, Bel Air or both. Alum Men's - X-Pac Oddly enough not because Supremo posted the same thing in another thread, I'd already text my mate when we were talking about potential surprises for the Rumble a few days ago and I mentioned X-Pac. With HHH going in the HoF, seeing some DX representation isn't out the question and we've already had Road Dogg, and Billy Gunn is elsewhere. Women's - Any other year I'd have said RTC Ivory but we had her not long ago. I'm really not sure what women are left, maybe Victoria who was in the crowd recently, maybe Layla? Not particularly bothered by this one as at this stage we've had all the good ones. TNA Men's - Santino Morella The greatest runner up in Rumble history. I'd have taken him winning over Del Rio at the time and even moreso in hindsight. Some good fun to be had if he shows up while Cena is in there. JOHN CHENAAAA. Women's - I don't watch TNA so no idea who's there. Debut or re-sign Men's - Ricky Starks Is he still under AEW contract? I have no idea. He needs to flee that sinking ship fast though. I don't think he's main roster ready but he'd breathe a lot of life into the stale NXT brand. Women's - Jordynne Grace I haven't seen much of her but her appearance in a previous Rumble impressed me. Need a good hoss on the women's roster and she could slot right into the main shows too. Quote

For maximum value on the marquee I'd probably end up having Trish cost Tiffy the (real) belt back to Nia on the way to my definitely-not-happening dream match where they definitely won't set up in Toronto at Elimination Chamber and do : (Silver Medal) Rhea vs Io (Proper belt) Jax vs Belair (grudge match 1) Tiffy vs Trish (grudge match 2) Cargill vs Naomi Then they can have Bianca do the KOD on Nia again to win the title for a WrestleMania Moment (TM) ... is that still a thing or did it get sent to purgatory in Vince's rucksack? Men’s NXT - Oba Femi to have a monster-off with Braun or Jacob Fatu. Women’s NXT - Lola Vice, for my own selfish reasons. Men’s Return - He hasn’t been gone for very long, but Bronson Reed. He had a hell of a year, so a decent showing in the Rumble would be fun. Women’s Return - I have missed Carmela, so I’d like to see her come back. Men’s Alum - Mr. Shamrock please. Stick an ankle lock on Gable. Women’s Alum - Ideally someone we haven’t already seen multiple times in surprise appearances. Stacey Keibler it is then. Men’s TNA - The only AJ we need. AJ Francis, the former Top Dolla. For the win. Men’s Debut - In an ideal world, McCauley Culkin. But this isn’t an ideal world. So it’ll be that Fluffy bellend. Women’s Debut - Harley Cameron. NXT - Zaria, just for the face off with Thea. Return - Becky Lynch, and then as standard Charlotte straight after to piss on her chips! TNA- Tessa Blanchard Tully and Arn shown in crowd on Raw, so maybe Tessa as a shock so crowd can give her a Hogan reception?? Debut/Re-sign. AJ Lee. Probably be Trish though. Mens.
