The perfect example of how fantastic Ricochet has become. Even the haters trying to slag him off still accidentally make his segment sound like something you need to seek out and watch. Great bit of business with Zach Gowen. Ricochet is the heel of the year and it’s not even close. What a tremendous dickhead. What was the name of that guy with no legs they used on the first AEW show? Is he still wrestling? Get him in for a Ricochet match! No haired man vs. No legged man.

Side note, I like how previously-bald Mark Briscoe is subtly growing his hair out during this feud with Ricochet. Lovely touch.

Dynamite was a good, if not great show. It speaks to the run they’re on and how high expectations are that this was considered a bit of a disappointment. Air a show of this quality a year ago and we’d be talking about it being one of the best shows of the year.

Fun opener. Turns out, “Can they co-exist?” melodrama can work, provided it features two white hot characters building one of the most exciting matches of the year. I hope they main event Double or Nothing. I know Ospreay is most likely winning, but I’ll still be pulling for my boy. Hangman Adam Page is gonna win, whether he wants to or not!

The Tag Division is on its are if those are the teams battling it out for Number One Contendership, but at least this hopefully means they’re going to unify the ROH and AEW Tag Titles. Another positive about this segment is that it completely put to bed last week’s silly discourse about whether Will Ospreay dresses like a star or not. Meltzer seemed weirdly obsessed with the idea that Ospreay didn’t look like a star when dressed in his expensive sports gear. Well Sammy Guevara was out there dressed in a Cody Rhodes-inspired three piece suit and he couldn’t have looked less like a star. He looked like someone’s younger brother heading for his first ever job interview or a court date for football hooliganism. This idea that everyone needs adhere to WWE’s dress code in order to look like a star is bullshit. Roman Reigns is their biggest star of the last decade and he wears trainers, gym gear and a Nintendo Powerglove!

As much as I could have done without the first thirty minutes involving the Hurt Syndicate, it all turned around once MJF was found hiding behind Tony’s Khan’s desk. All this stuff with Max and the Hurt Syndicate is top tier Sports Entertainment. Constant tension and brilliant humour. My biggest worry is they’re going to shoot the big angle during next week’s Contract Signing because the dynamics and chemistry with this lot is so good that I think they’d be short changing themselves not stretching it out. You could get a solid six months out of this. MJF should have already put an order in for some new gear inspired by Owen Hart in the Nation of Domination.

This made me smile. Bullying works. I hope Mina vs. Toni at the pay per view results in Mariah returning.

Main event was bang average, but the post-match angle was pretty much perfect. Always love how Swerve Strickland is presented as the modern day Stone Cold Steve Austin. Always the coolest, smartest, toughest man. The Swerve Stomp from the top of the cage with everyone falling like bowling pins was awesome.

Swerve and Willow in Anarchy in the Arena is my jam. Two pure, home-grown superstars, in my favourite match, where both are guaranteed to excel. Willow smashing up Moxley is the money. Spot of the year potential. In my head, it’s the ultra-violent version of when Ronda Rousey started beating up Triple H at Wrestlemania.

I haven’t seen a lot of Gabe Kidd, but what I have seen I’ve enjoyed. Kenny made him look like the next big thing at Wrestle Kingdom. He’s a good fit for the Death Riders. Looks like a young Jon Moxley having travelled through time to remind his older self of when he used to be good.

I’ve no problem with them adding as many people into the Anarchy in the Arena match as possible. The more the merrier! Get Okada and Mike Bailey in it, have them brawl to the back, only for it to turn into a 1980s martial arts action movie or video game. Stick some health bars at the top of the screen, like Street Fighter 2 Turbo. I assumed Willow's entrance music would make the perfect bop for the ensuing mayhem, but how much do you think Guile's theme would cost? More than Final Countdown?

Super jazzed about AEW right now. They’ve done such a good job selling Double or Nothing that it’s annoying me it’s not already available for purchase on FITE. Let me give you my money already!

I really enjoyed Ricochet Vs. Gowen, but only as a one off. Ricochet needs something bigger moving forward, imo.

I mostly enjoyed the woman's four way, but that 'lets kill time by suplexing each other spot' can get in the bin.

Not sure I can really get invested in Mina Vs. Storm. Unless the plan is for Mina to get the upset, Mone loses the Owen and it builds to Storm Vs. Mone for the TBS Title.

Said it before but I don't want to see both belts on either of them. Now Storm winning the TBS Title at All In, and doing something bonkers, like renaming it the TCM Title is something I can definitely get behind.

Don't worry mate, I don't think they're planning a best of 7 series.

Just saw on IG some terrible news. The latest Fozzy tour has finished. Really really hope Jericho isn't coming back soon. The shows are so much better without him around. It's a breath of fresh air.

Do you know I thought the same recently. It all seems much more vibrant and exciting without Jericho around. Let him get some new guys over on ROH that noone gives a shit about or keep him away from it all.

Have a horrible feeling that Jericho will return as one of MJF's crew and we get another run of silly vignettes. They were brilliant the first time around, we don't need them again.

Fair play to him, that is a serious feat. I don't know much about Darby Allin beyond the obvious in-ring stuff, but a quick Google reveals he's big into hiking and climbing.

I love getting up into the mountains, have never attempted Everest though, maybe one day! :DSerious feat though like I said, lots of people who have had previous mountain experience sometimes don't even make it to base camp, or they do with lots of struggling.

I hope AEW have plans in place to maximise publicity off the back of this.  It's an incredible achievement and is a perfect story for the news/talk show circuit.  That picture with the AEW flag should be all over everything.

Eddie Kingston, somewhere, presumably.

He can excuse the suffocating, the poisoning and the cat-burgling. But you have to draw the line at teaming with those pricks. Petrol cans at dawn.
