My grandfather died a few years ago, and while he was an enormous Celtic fan, he HATED Henrik Larsson. It began with him thinking he was overrated ‘because all he did was score goals’ but even after he left the club, he would use ‘Larsson’ as a derogatory term for anything sport-related he didn’t like. George Burley was a ‘Larsson’ of a Scotland manager, Jamie Murray was the ‘Larsson’ to Andy’s Chris Sutton and, more recently, Pedro Caixinha ‘Larssoned up’ Rangers. It confused the hell out of anyone who heard it first time as they thought he was complimenting them, and I never bothered to explain it as I vehemently disagreed with his assessment of poor Henrik!
