One of the things that used to annoy me back in the day was how many Scottish wrestlers got so many plaudits, yet they were no different from any of these - there were just as many over-rated mediocre guys or shitarses flying under the radar who were getting away with it because, for some reason, none of the Scottish fans ever seemed willing to concede that any of their guys were just rubbish.

I remember Kenny doing the Bawbag Fifteen, but that was only after a load of discussion and criticism, because Moj had done the Shitarse Fifty and not a single Scot had been contributed, let alone made the list. I remember his original post having a tone of "OK, we're doing this, but only because you guys wouldn't shut up about it".

Speaking of Beirut, York Hall is in Bethnal Green, which no one has thought to rebuild after the Luftwaffe tried to redesign it in the early 1940s. The people of Bethnal Green look upon Beirut with envy.

York Hall is easily the worst wrestling venue in the UK, and I've watched wrestling in a nightclub in Scunthorpe, and not a good nightclub I can tell you. 

York Hall isn't even the best wrestling venue in Bethnal Green. 

Lucha Britannia used to run great shows in Bethnal Green Working Men's Club, then later in the now much-missed Resistance Gallery. Both superior.

ICW was over on vibes alone. The actual quality of the wrestlers / matches was and presumably still is utter plops. I have always felt Joe Coffey is wildly overrated. The less said about "Kid Fite" the better (crimes against wrestler names, wrestling ability and underage girls)

I used to go to ICW all the time when I lived in Glasgow in the mid 10s and I am struggling to recall a good match that didn't involve an outsider.

As a side bar, I always thought Broxbourne Civic Hall was a good place to watch wrestling.

I utterly lost my mind in that venue during a Yamato v BxB Hulk match in 2014. At the time I was convinced it was one of the best matches I have ever seen live.

It got zero reaction online afterwards and I have never watched it back. Hopefully I never do because it will only ruin the beautiful memories.

Not great if you were even mildly claustrophobic. I went once, to see Manami Toyota. But seeing Toyota aside I felt on edge the whole time. Hate being squeezed.

I have that precise experience about quite a few DG:UK matches. The Shingo vs Yokosuka match in Oxford I proudly still declare one of the best 10 matches I ever saw live, despite never going back to watch it again.

But better memories are making that pub in Hoddesdon shake singing KNOWING ME KNOWING YOU, UHAA!

Top 6 jumps I’d like to see between AEW and WWE

6. Ricky Starks to WWE - I mean, it’s going to happen, so at this point I just want it to be over and done with.

5. Kevin Owens to AEW - there’s a feeling of staleness around Owens, and I’m not sure the ingredients exist in WWE for him to escape that. A change of scenery would do him the world of good, and I suspect would freshen him up massively.

4. Athena to WWE - Tony Khan seems hellbent on keeping her in ROH forevermore, but I’d just like to see her wrestle on a major television show. If he won’t use her on Dynamite, I’d like her to get another chance in WWE. 

3. Becky Lynch to AEW - I’m not sure if this counts as a jump since she’s inactive right now; but, much like Owens, Becky feels like she’s done it all in WWE. A fresh environment and range of opponents could do her the world of good. Plus it would be a genuinely exciting get for AEW.

2. MJF to WWE - his heel character has been weak since his recent turn. We know he has talent, and we know he can be interesting - but right now, he just isn’t. I don’t feel certain that a jump to WWE would help him become more watchable - but it’s at least something interesting for him to do. I’d certainly be interested in seeing him square up to the likes of John Cena, Roman Reigns and The Rock.

1. Cody Rhodes to AEW - OK, so Cody is doing just fine in WWE. But he has so much unfinished business in AEW. The thought of him returning after a highly successful excursion is really interesting - how would he fit in, in the modern AEW landscape? What would the fan reception be like? For me, Cody returning to AEW is the most interesting switch we could see in wrestling right now. I’d love to see him feud with the likes of Christian Cage, Moxley and Hangman much more than almost every potential opponent in WWE. I hope he returns to AEW one day, I really do.

I'm going to seriously rethink my Top 6 list and come back to it with a clear head. I totally forgot about Broxbourne it is tops most of this list. I loved the NOAH shows I saw there.
