Yeah get that cunt out the door as well. Plant eating weirdo
sukhy
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but how cringe was that singer that came out for Danielson'e entrance?! I got goosebumps when he started singing and not in a good way. I skipped through that entrance as fast as I could.
Paid Members BomberPat Posted September 8, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted September 8, 2022 Danielson is exactly the sort of wrestler who shouldn't get big fancy entrances, too. WWE got that right at Wrestlemania 30 by giving Triple H the self-consciously "epic" entrance, while Bryan did his usual schtick, and let the fans be the ones to make it special. His whole deal is that he's just an ordinary bloke who happens to be one of the best wrestlers in the world. Which made the song itself a really weird choice, with lyrics about being "born for greatness" - isn't the whole point of Bryan Danielson that he wasn't born for greatness, that he worked really hard to get where he is and prove people wrong that he could never be a star? Paid Members LaGoosh Posted September 8, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted September 8, 2022 Yeah that entrance was awful and that rapper/singer was the drizzling shits. The tone and presentation of that guy was just completely at odds with everything Danielson does and represents.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted September 11, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted September 11, 2022 (edited) Buoyed by all the stuff going on around this event, I decided to make this my AEW PPV watch for the year, which in hindsight wasn't the best idea I've ever had. Took me 4 days and I also stupidly watched the pre-show. The Guevaras vs Ortiz and Soho - They tried to start off with a chaotic brawl and it worked to a degree but everyone in this match seemed as sloppy as hell and poor Ruby got her face re-altered. Reasonably fun though. Hook vs Angelo Parker - Hook has a great look but he's too small for the gimmick he's trying to do. At least his dad looked fat to go with being small. Served a purpose, I guess, as Hook.... defends the FTW title? They brought that back?! Pac vs Kip Sabian - I really like Pac but this is the sort of match that I always assumed I would hate him for before I saw him do some good matches in NXT. Sabian was terrible. This was a spotfest, if you like that sort of thing. Kingston vs Ishii - Ahh god. I've said before I see the appeal of Kingston even if I just don't like him myself but this was fucking terrible. I thought this strong style shit was dying out. Even the crowd seemed to hate it. Hilarious ending, Ishii looked he just wanted to get straight on the flight home, not stick around for a hug. Casino Battle Ladder Royale - The usual ladder clusterfuck. Couldn't have been more obvious who the joker was. Next. The Elite vs Page and The Dark Order - Well, it was definitely a Young Bucks match. I think I made it 4 minutes before I fast-forwarded it, and I resisted fast-forwarding anything else. The Young Bucks are the worst tag team of all time and I hope they fall down a grain pit. Cargill vs Athena - Apparently Athena used to be Ember Moon. I think I saw her once in WWE. Cargill is the sort of talent and look you build a company round. Enjoyed this and the pace of it a lot. Wardlow and FTR vs The MCMG and Jay Lethal - Why are FTR arseing around in exhibition 6 man tags when they're supposed to be the best team in the world? This was a good match but everyone was wasted here, except the sex pest. Powerhouse Hobbs vs Ricky Starks - Really like these two, Starks was great for the five minutes we all liked NWA Powerrrrrrr. Would have liked a bit longer but fine for what it was. Swerve in Our Glory vs The Acclaimed - What kind of name for anything is Swerve in Our Glory? Jesus. This was the best match of the night though. Keith Lee barely looked alive at points but this was great fun and a match that actually justified its length. Would watch again. Women's Title Four Way - This was a real mess at times. I like Britt Baker and she was the only one I really knew as I only knew Toni Storm from Flatliner calling her fat. She's not but she's also not very good at wrestling judging by this, but the other two in this weren't much better. Christian Cage vs Jungle Boy - Gee, I never saw that turn coming! A complete waste of thankfully not very much time. Chris Jericho vs Brian Danielson - What the utter hell was with Danielson's entrance? They found something more embarrassing than Tyson Fury serenading Drew McIntyre. Danielson carried Jericho to a pretty good match although I was bored a good few minutes before the end. Six man tag, can't be arsed writing everyone out - This was a fun match even though I hate Darby Allin. When's Sting gonna turn on him and make him eat his skateboard. CM Punk vs Jon Moxley - Probably about as good a match as I've ever seen Moxley in, but faint praise and all that. I just hate him, I think he's fucking shit but at least this was somewhat watchable. The crowd were odd during this, Punk's so dislikeable now that even his home fans are starting to get tired of him. Overall, this wasn't a great life experience. Try again next year!
