Hearing that Tyson has said he's putting a million on Paul winning is outstanding but even crazier is Francis being brought up and Jake saying he is nothing and he'd knock him out.....is he trying to die live on netflix what is happening

AJ weighed in at 243.4lbs to Jake Paul’s 216.6lbs. A near 30lb difference on top of AJ being five inches taller and having a six inch reach advantage. And that’s just the physical stuff. The gap in skill level and actual legitimate pro level experience means AJ really should be making short work of Jake tonight. Anything less than a demolition job is gonna be a bad look for him. Seeing all kinds of talk that this is gonna be fixed but I can’t see it myself. AJ made his ‘fuck you’ money already a long time ago. He’s more than set for life. So I don’t really get why he’d tarnish his legacy by taking part in fixing a fight now at the end of his career. Not to mention it’s illegal and the risks if it got exposed as fishy just aren’t worth it.

It’s a weird one this. On the one hand, I get why people are shitting on it but at the same time, people have been moaning about Jake cherry picking MMA fighters who were either old (Anderson Silva), past it (Tyron Woodley) or just completely lacking in anything resembling striking prowess (Ben Askren) ever since he put the gloves on. The Tyson fight rightly got shat on because of Tyson’s age and health issues going in and the only other time Jake faced an actual boxer who wouldn’t qualify for a free bus pass was the Tommy Fury fight, and Jake lost despite Tommy being crap himself. So while the criticism of Jake’s cherry picking has been valid a lot of the time, isn’t he giving those critics what they wanted to see now? He’s fighting a world champion, Olympic gold medal winning Heavyweight who is much bigger, has knockout power and, while not at his peak, is a way better boxer than anyone Jake’s been in with before.

But yeah, absolutely no way AJ should be losing or even being troubled in this one. If he somehow is beaten or even just hurt at any point, the talk of the fix being in is gonna be unavoidable tomorrow. AJ should crush him and I think he will. I think Jake just sees this as a bit of a win/win in that he’ll get credit even in defeat because of the size, experience and skill difference. But in the tiniest most unlikely scenario that he somehow pulls it off or even just looks halfway competitive in short spells, that’s huge for him.

AJ by KO inside 3 rounds for me.

Jake Paul has accomplished loads but this isn't one of them this has bad news all over it for him but I salute him for getting in there.

Paul really has nothing to lose here, if I was him I’d run in and throw the biggest hardest overhand I could and hope it lands. I think if AJ wanted to get could get him out in the first.

Yeah was wank that. Nobody came out of it looking good.

The finish was kind of satisfying, I guess. But not really the payoff you wanted if you were waiting years to see Jake finally get chinned. And it really shouldn’t have taken that long for AJ to find that Jimmy Hill chin. 

Awful fight to watch. Seeing takes like ‘give Jake credit he went six rounds’ but he went six rounds running and literally shooting for takedowns. He threw the odd Hail Mary and he even landed a couple of shots so fair play. But he fought so negatively here, with the sole intention being to just kill the clock and survive, that I find it hard to even give him his due. And AJ, yeah he got the result in the end but the fact it took him so long to even land clean when Jake was knackered from backpedaling, was moving like he was in treacle and wasn’t moving his head at all wasn’t a good look for AJ at all.

That was always the risk for Joshua here. He was never gonna actually lose to Jake Paul unless they fixed it. The risk was always gonna be that anything less than a quick steamrolling would be looked at as a moral defeat for him. It might sound weird considering he did stop Jake but a performance like this just convinces me even further that AJ is pretty washed up at this point. It’s either that or he quietly agreed to ‘carry’ Jake for a few rounds. And neither of those options are good.

Seeing him do the throat slash shit after like he actually beat a legit threat was cringe. As was him talking big calling out Fury nearly a decade after that fight should’ve been made. It all just came off weak. You just beat an influencer who was outgunned and outsized and still somehow made a meal of it.

The Jake Paul bubble has burst for me. Not that I was ever big into him anyway. But I get the feeling a lot of people have kind of had their fill of this stuff now. They can still get a crowd and the Netflix money is obviously huge. But it genuinely felt to me like there was more buzz for Jake’s fights with Askren and Woodley than there was for this, which is crazy. I just think a lot of people are over the silliness. The appeal of a freakshow ‘attraction’ fight is that it’s an occasional change of pace. Seeing it all the time has just killed it off though. I think the Tyson fight was where a lot of people lost interest. That was a joke fight as well but there seemed to be way more hype going into that than it had any right to have among casual watchers. I think when that turned out to be complete dogshit and the Tyson from 1987 didn’t turn up like many seemed to expect, it turned a lot of people off Jake’s bullshit for good.

In other news, Anderson Silva stopping Tyron Woodley on the undercard was pretty sweet. 

Fight was shit before that but the result made up for it. Anderson even teased a leg kick just before the uppercut, crafty old sod.

For me the most undefendable part of the main was Jake trying to shoot a takedown for the hundredth time and standing up he seemed to injure his leg making it incredibly hard to move let alone fight and be defensive..... but AJ didn't go for the clear obvious finish and took him another round or possibly two before he broke his jaw and won.

 

It was extremely entertaining because the world knew what to expect but that performance from Jake was shocking, running the entire time only breaking to cinch or trying to take him down....the referee doing nothing about that at all.... allowing Jake over a minute to recover when he tried claiming he low blowed him during him pulling him to the floor and the fucking scorecard the next round giving the last round to fucking Jake!!!! 

Neither have come out of this well but not for the expected or proposed expectations most thought we'd have I imagine netflix are pretty pissed about that payday they forked for in the end.

Surely this is the last Jake Paul netflix outing unless it's another death wish from Jake like Francis (I know he said he wouldn't entertain it just a example) 

The final end was worth the years of waiting and hoping rather it come from Joshua than someone like Ben askren or Tommy Fury right??!!

 

Only acceptable fight was the Anderson Silva Vs Tyrone Woodley fight but even that came with a weird finish in the second which is fitting as a whole.

I can’t stand the ‘it was rigged’ brigade who surface after every one of these. Going frame by frame and claiming every missed punch or every time AJ takes his foot off the gas as ‘proof’ it was fixed rather than just something you see in pretty much every Boxing match ever. It’s pure desperation to be seen as the smartest fan in the room. Absolutely insufferable.

Yes pretty much that summed up the fight perfectly, in the first round Joshua threw a right hook that wasn't really near however the speed and power he showed broke Jake completely and he went with plan b which was avoid at all costs and failing that clinch and/or shoot the takedown.

Do you honestly think there was ever a different plan than that matey? He was always just going to try and evade/survive as long as possible by hugging and running away if the fight wasn’t fixed.
