In the 3 pots in the left corner is lavender. 3 pots in the right corner was my miserable attempt to grow tulips from bulb.

I’ve had luck growing strawberries, chillis, peas, potatoes, blackcurrants, beefsteak tomatoes, broad beans, blackberries, numerous herbs, gooseberries, apples and even cucumbers but for whatever reason any time I try to grow raspberries, nothing happens. I thought they were supposed to be resilient, but I’ve tried growing from canes mostly, but nothing seems to work, and it’s really starting to annoy me.

I don’t even like raspberries that much, but it’s been years of this, and I can’t figure out what - if anything - I’m doing wrong. Google hasn’t helped, neither have the staff in local garden centres who tell me it’s generally one of the easier things to grow.

Has anyone else had this issue, or am I just cursed? If you have had this issue, did you ever find a resolution?

I'm forever trying to stop my raspberries from taking over the planet. You've got a gift there.

I think your cursed @RedTwoster, I kill the vast majority of plants I come in to contact with and our raspberries are thriving as are the strawberries (which are taking over the whole veg patch and are bloody delicious).

We've got two raspberry, a loganberry, and loads of blackberry brambles. We regularly have to keep them under control.

Main problem we have though is that they just don't fruit a lot of the time. I suspect it's because we're not putting down enough compost/fertiliser/feed.

We find our raspberries fruit every other year, we get a massive haul one year and then not much the next year, and then another massive year where we have so many we don't know what to do with them

I cut my raspberries back to about 10cm from the ground every autumn and they fruit nicely every year. They do get a few drops of Coco's fix-all chicken shit potion too though, which can't hurt.

Don't listen to carbs. If you start from a seedling or a cutting you won't get anything this year but a rooted plant would still have plenty of time.

The annual Gnome refresh has occurred. 

Looking forward to those sweet underpants profit margins. Also built a climber for the (hopefully) soon to be thriving beans next to the greenhouse.

I was thinking more a seedling ot cutting, but our established plants have recently started fruiting, hence why I said too late. Blackberries would have time though.

I actually found that we have an existing established Strawberry plant in our garden. It looks to be doing ok.

I think we're gonna need a bigger boat 

First year using well rotted manure and it's paying off. Never had them grow so quickly. Have 3 trusses starting to form on each plant with lots of flowering already. Lovely stuff.
