Lawn was looking a bit crispy from the lack of rain in spring. Gave it a soaking with miracle gro lawn food. Left for a week and cut. Come up good again.

My son has helped me to make a video with his drone for our care home to potentially win a £20k garden makeover....got a call from my boss this morning to say we are shortlisted nationally for the prize and if we're in the top 3 then we get the prize! Going to be hard work now but going to do it!

Well we didn't get in the top 3 but we did so well to get to that stage and the I had to present the ideas via Teams to 4 national directors, 3 general managers, 2 heads of department and a couple of others....didn't shit meself at all....much! 

 

Still made some useful contacts and established ourselves a bit more locally with businesses and organisations so not a total loss.

 

My boss then tells me we have some money squirreled away so we will be able to do some of the plans anyway just not with BUPA money

Got an unwanted present in my garden at the moment. Neighbours dead tree collapsed on my fence on Monday.

My dad went and told him, neighbour shrugged it off and said he couldn't help. Tomorrow we are going to be budget tree surgeons to get it down and save the fence.

This could go in the Shit Neighbours thread.

Definitely one for the shit neighbours thread. He should be sorting that out the best he can. Looks like a load will fall into your garden but just chuck it back into his.  
 

PS I have serious grass envy, I thought it was fake at first glance

Common sense would say so, but it seems like a grey area. The tree is dead and wrapped in ivy which is what killed it. It's my neighbours responsibility to sort it, but if they don't. Not much I can do, unless I sort it myself.  

If you want go down the small claims court route, you've got to prove it's dead, you warned the owner of the tree with written correspondence. And they've not done anything about the warning. The damage is minimal at the moment, as it's resting on the fence capping, but there's a lot of pressure on it, pushing the top of the fence.

He told my dad, he can't do anything because he's just come out of hospital with internal bleeding. I didn't expect him to be climbing ladders and waving chainsaws about. But he's perfectly capable of getting in touch with a tree surgeon to sort it out.

He just wasn't interested, didn't bother to go and look at what happened. He was very kind and said we can throw any "bits" back over to his side of the fence though.

Thanks, it's been sprayed with Richard Jackson Flower Power Premium Lawn Magic, Lawn Feed, last week. I think the rain has helped it along this week. 

We cut the tree back today, my dad may have  accidentally cut other trees down which were dead too. 

Went to the neighbours to tell him, we were doing it. Wasn't home, so couldn't be as poorly as he made out.
