jimufctna24 Posted April 28 Posted April 28 I'm getting Mark De Mori vibes from Prenga. A dude with a seemingly impressive record numerically, yet has seemingly boxed nobody notable. Heck, there is even speculation on a few forums that some of his bouts have been fixed. Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted April 28 Paid Members Posted April 28 Already sick of the moaning about AJ vs Fury. People on social media, some gonk phoning into Talksport, this lad at work. Fuck me. Yeah it should’ve happened years ago, everyone gets it, but it didn’t. Boxing ‘purists’ pretending they don’t care, or even funnier, that they’re not even gonna watch it is hilarious to me. They’ll be sitting there watching, arms folded, doing their best ‘I’m not impressed’ face all the way through. Quote

Wouldn't be surprised. That Albanian boxing scene appears super shady. The only other Heavyweight Albanian boxer i know of is Nelson Hysa, his record has also come into question. They are well supported though, so id imagine Penga will bring in some interest. Penga will have been the most carefully selected opponent possible. They can't be slipping up here. Quote
NeverYield Posted April 29 Posted April 29 What do we make of Teremoana's performance then? Hearn talks of big things for him, he can certainly whack, was a lovely uppercut but.. Fights like this just don't do anything for anyone, he was a reasonable amateur and certainly has potential, he is also reasonably active, but would love to see him push on a bit now, get in some deeper waters. Paid Members Egg Shen Posted April 30 Author Paid Members Posted April 30 He looks the business, but the level of opposition is woeful. That KO was scary. Quote

As for Teremoana x 2 he needs to fight someone a bit better, and I'm not up on Aussie heavyweights but who would be the Aussie equivalent of Dave Allen? Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted April 30 Author Paid Members Posted April 30 There's plenty of Heavyweights in Australia, there's big tough Samoan/Tongan fighters propping up their cards. Dave Allen himself might be a shout, I think Hrgovic may end his career though. Did you hear Lou Dibella on Helwani's show this week? He was very critical of Prenga saying he'd attempted to sign him as an opponent for some of the shows he'd promoted...he did say Prenga will have a go though. He also said Prenga's purse to fight AJ will be over 10x what he has earned for entire fight career combined up until this point. Decent work if you can get it. Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted April 30 Paid Members Posted April 30 I just had a look at Aussie heavyweights on Boxrec. I'd forgotten about Dempsey McKeen, that might be a decent fight for Teremoana. I also noticed Mark De Mori is still fighting. 10 years on from the debacle sgainst Haye. 50 fights he's had. The most bizarre thing looking at his record is that he had 3 consecutive fights against a fighter whose first name was Laszlo and they were all different fighters. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted May 1 Author Paid Members Posted May 1 Yeah, McKean is a shout. He was with Matchroom too, not sure if he is anymore. Remember when Mark De Mori randomly got matched up with Felipe Hrgovic a couple of years back on a Saudi card? Fuck was all that about? Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted May 1 Paid Members Posted May 1 I have just read on the BBC website https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/articles/c362p18l4llo AJ v Fury is in doubt because Dua Lipa has declined the opportunity to perform. That's the world we live in now. Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted May 13 Paid Members Posted May 13 So Lomachenko is going to be making a comeback after his retirement. His last fight was 2 years ago. Have I got a tinfoil hat on but anyone else think he has been banned for 2 years for failing a drug test and now is coming back. Quote

It's probably a bit too coincidental that Lomachenko has announced his return on the day his contract with Top Rank expires. Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted June 9 Paid Members Posted June 9 Boxxer have signed with DAZN. I am sure Hearn and Shalom will be all friendly now, but I'm not sure Frank will feel the same. I guess it's the Avengers assembling to take on Dana. Quote
NeverYield Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Yup this was their big announcement, it was certainly a necessary move as things stand currently, but I feel in general things aren't looking that great over at Boxxer, they will be competing against the likes of Top Rank, Matchroom, Queensberry etc, lot's of newer fighters coming through who look like great prospects are also likely to go with any of the other promotions on DAZN than Boxxer, it's a very crowded platform on there for them but we will see how it all plays out. Paid Members Egg Shen Posted June 30 Author Paid Members Posted June 30 I know we needed a fight with absolutely zero jeopardy involved but crikey, this is gonna be a rough watch. Quote
