Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted January 9, 2022 Author Paid Members Posted January 9, 2022 For anyone who hasn’t seen it, and I know @SBD was looking for it before, ‘The Kings’ 4 part documentary on Leonard, Hagler, Hearns and Duran is available on Amazon Prime now. When you go to watch it says about subscribing to Discovery Plus but you can get the 7 day free trial and watch this before you cancel. Quote

Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted February 24, 2022 Author Paid Members Posted February 24, 2022 Feels like I’ve been hearing this is ‘coming soon’ forever now. Finally out next month although I’m not sure where we’ll get to see it. Looks good though. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted February 24, 2022 Paid Members Posted February 24, 2022 hasn't that been on Amazon for about a year already? Quote

Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted February 25, 2022 Author Paid Members Posted February 25, 2022 Not this one. There’s been other Bisping docs like the one BT Sport did but this one’s been in the works for ages but never got a public release. Some people have seen it, think it’s had a few small showings, but the actual full release in the UK is 21st March. Helwani hasn’t seen it yet so I doubt it’s been available too widely. Quote

So this is a different documentary then? He definitely had a full length one out last year I've got it on My plex Quote

Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted September 24, 2024 Author Paid Members Posted September 24, 2024 This looks good. Not sure I like them reusing the ‘Four Kings’ title because to me that’s always gonna be reserved for Leonard, Hagler, Hearns and Duran. This looks to be in a similar vein as the series on those guys but this one covers Lewis, Bruno, Eubank and Benn. Quote
Gooner Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 I'm looking forward to watching this. Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted December 18, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 18, 2024 New series coming in January. Being entrenched in this shit, it's stories we've all heard before, but should be a good watch. Quote
jimufctna24 Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 (edited) A thought crossed my mind while watching a few episodes of Dark Side of the Cage a few months back. I would really like to see a documentary produced, or even better a book written, about Cage Rage. Firstly, it's not like the promotion was completely irrelevant. Matt Lindland fought on one of their shows while ranked as the number 1 middleweight in the world by some websites. Anderson Silva held their middleweight title just before debuting in the UFC. Bisping appeared on two of their shows. The likes of Babalu, Big Foot Silva, Vitor Belfort, Ken Shamrock, Paul Daley, Lee Murray, and many other notable MMA fighters all made appearances on their shows at one point or another as well. Their shows were also broadcast on Sky Sports and Bravo, channels which had very good reach in the UK at the time. However, it's the behind the scenes stuff which would make a book/documentary on the promotion especially interesting. The Bob Sapp/K1 debacle, the EliteXC merger, the alleged fixed fights, the Paul Daley incident that got them booted from Sky Sports, Cabbage Correira being mugged and assaulted at the fighter's hotel, the rumoured gangster involvement, etc. I would like for those incidents to be recalled in detail by those involved. I bet there were many further incidents and debacles that we are unaware of too. As far as I am aware, the likes of Geer and O'Donnell (Hi Wand) are still alive. As are most of the name fighters that appeared on their shows, both the world class talent and the British bangers. Thus such a book/documentary would be possible. Sadly, I'm not sure if anyone has the inclination to make it. Edited July 5, 2025 by jimufctna24 Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 5, 2025 Paid Members Posted July 5, 2025 (edited) 100% Jim. If I was an author/researcher looking to write a book about MMA, that's the subject i'd go after. We need a Cage Rage memories/where are they now thread. From what I remember Greer got his all his money from 'construction' and went back into that world once he left Cage Rage (don't quote me on that though). O'Donnell repackaged Cage Rage as UCMMA and continued to promote, they ran 83 shows before seizing to exist in 2019. I mean, look at this shit, incredible: Edited July 5, 2025 by Egg Shen Quote

I do recall when he returned to construction after Cage Rage folded his firm went bankrupt and he escaped a heavy fine after a lad died while working on one of his projects. Butch mentioned it in this thread (sadly the link he posted about the incident has expired) - Quote
