Rockbus2 Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 The Frank Sidebottom 'Biopic' starring Michael Fassbender as Frank is surely perfect for this thread. Cracking movie and soundtrack too. Quote
Paid Members Lorne Malvo Posted February 12, 2024 Paid Members Posted February 12, 2024 May not be surreal, but I've been rewatching the 'MonsterVerse' movies (because I hate myself) and Kong:Skull Island has a really good varied ensemble cast; Tom Hiddleston Samuel L. Jackson John Goodman Brie Larson Toby Kebbell (as both human and mo-cap) John Ortiz Corey Hawkins Forum favourite Shea Whigham (❤️) Terry Notary (mo-capped) John C. Reilly Eugene Cordero Marc Evan Jackson (Kevin Cozner from Brooklyn 99 if you don't recognise the name) Richard Jenkins What a cast! Quote

Paid Members Carbomb Posted March 28, 2024 Paid Members Posted March 28, 2024 (edited) Not films as such, but Dennis Potter wrote a couple of plays as TV mini-series in the mid-90s just before he passed, Karaoke and Cold Lazarus. Currently re-watching Karaoke, and I didn't realise back then the cast it had - obviously, a lot of these were early in their careers, or were just before they made it big, but it's still impressive in retrospect: Albert Finney Richard E. Grant Roy Hudd Ian McDiarmid Julie Christie Alison Steadman Anna Chancellor Keeley Hawes Saffron Burrows Ewan McGregor Ralph Brown Stephen Mackintosh Hywel Bennett Liz Smith Natascha McElhone Fay Ripley Neil Stuke Matthew Cottle (if only they'd had Samantha Janus in this, they'd have got the Game On hat-trick) Stephen Boxer BTW, you can find all of both plays on Youtube. EDIT: Forgot to include the most surreal cast member there - Charley Boorman playing a yuppie. Edited March 29, 2024 by Carbomb Quote
