Tim Healys Chutney Spoon Posted October 15 Posted October 15 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwdr8grnykrlo Well this will be interesting to see how long it is before someone takes a pop at him. 15yrs is a long time these days for that sort of offence, so it must be pretty bad. Personally he should hang, as should all child abusers. Quote

Superinjunctions and the like have rarely not backfired - Ryan Giggs being the perfect example of that, but there are others which have basically just resulted in the Streisand Effect setting in. Having said that, with Twitter effectively being no more and social media being flooded with misinformation, perhaps this is the perfect time for someone looking to cover something up to do just that. Maybe their name is correctly shared somewhere, there are plenty of nefarious services that can use bots to drown out the noise. Browser Brady Posted Tuesday at 10:16 AM Posted Tuesday at 10:16 AM Are we allowed talk about the Russell Brand case or only when it’s over ? Quote
Browser Brady Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cmje5k3q9ello Not looking good for Brand. I must confess i did enjoy his podcast back in the day. Never found amusing or entertaining on TV but the Podcast medium seemed like a good fit for him. Quote
Briefcase Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago From what I've read and heard about Brand even before this case and everything that came out a while ago he just comes across as a nasty manipulative man taking advantage of girls and then trying every trick in the book to come across as a saint (playing the 'good guy' act, turning to religion etc). I am not saying the allegations are true (although my person opinion is he's guilty as sin and has probably done much more we don't know about). Back then perceptions were a lot different as Brand probably came across as a lad (shagger of the year 3 times by The Sun says it all) who thought he could get away with things because of his fame. It's also worth mentioning that he was probably drugged up on Coke so he probably doesn't remember things that happened at the time, let alone now. I find the daily interactions with the press during this trial and his recent post on socials really distasteful, feels as though he is trying to manipulate people into feeling sorry for him, I find the whole thing really disturbing to be honest and I am sure there's many other women that haven't been able to come forward. Just horrific really. Quote

Disgraceful and shameful behaviour. Joking aside, abusers like this should face capital punishment Quote

When a trial is ongoing, it’s considered ‘active’ meaning that speculating about it could be considered contempt of court. It’s never really worth the risk, to be honest. 15 minutes ago, Tim Healys Chutney Spoon said: Disgraceful and shameful behaviour. Joking aside, abusers like this should face capital punishment This is the second time you’ve brought up the death penalty, and I’ll do you the courtesy of actually addressing what you’re saying. Here’s the thing - courts sometimes get things wrong. Innocent people have been convicted and sentenced to death, and once that sentence is carried out there’s no reversing that mistake. While he obviously wasn’t sentenced to death, Andrew Malkinson would be a recent example of this - under your reasoning, there’s every chance he’d not have been around to have had his sentence quashed. To be clear, this isn’t me casting doubt on any conviction - I’m simply saying you should take a step back and think about the implications of that kind of thing. Quote
