Otto Dem Wanz
How do you usually spend yours? Â Do you make an effort and have anything special planned for this year, or will you be wanking into a flannel like Miss Havisham? Â What are the best or worst things you've done, given, or been given to or from your special man or woman? As someone who is currently single I'll probably spend my night indoors after work and hitting the gym, possibly putting on one of those really good WWE 24 documentaties, or failing that, shooting Nazi's on Wolfenstein New Order for the PlayStation. In terms of past ones when I was loved up, I celebrated it each year without it being memorable at any point, it was literally; out for a meal at a non-expensive chain (think Zizzi's or Carluccio's), exchange (handmade, to my credit) cards and back home to bed. While I appreciate its a commercialised crock of shite that big companies thrive on to sell us their products, there's a lot of good in doing or thinking about things for our loved one, and some of the best ideas I've heard are often at no monetary expense at all. Â So, what does the UKFF think about the day of old St Valentine?
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted February 13, 2017 Awards Moderator Share Posted February 13, 2017 We're going to see Lego Batman tomorrow, and then we'll probably find a dog and spit on it or something.
Mr.E
I'll be doing the "last minute scramble" on the way home, after leaving it to the last second.  I saw the cards come out weeks ago and thought "if I get one now, I won't forget". But I then did forget until somebody reminded me it's tomorrow.  Stop at the shop on the way home then, for card and some flowers!
mikehoncho
My wife gets plenty enough through the year, & our wedding anniversary is 2 weeks after St. Valentine's Day so we don't bother with much, except cards. Â We do the same sort of thing for Dydd Santes Dwynwen on 25 Jan ... though this year we combined it with Burns Night.

mikehoncho
I'll be at Lego Batman, dressed as a dachshund. Â Hoping for some doggy style action after the movie ... you've just got to be sure it's cum not spit on your back.
Paid Members jazzygeofferz Posted February 13, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2017 We're pondering a trip to the pictures to watch T2: Trainspotting, although I have a horrible feeling my O/H may have confused Trainspotting with The Full Monty. That'd be a sea change in Robert Carlisle's character arc if ever I saw one.
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted February 13, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2017 I've got an incredibly long work day in London. I then plan on going home, eating, having a dump if I have time and then going to bed to read a book on John Stuart Mill.
Paid Members Nostalgia Nonce Posted February 13, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2017 Going to work. Driving to Birmingham to pick the missus up from the airport and drop her at home. Going back to work. Â Not decided what we're doing foodwise. I'll probably marinade some meat so that she can just stick it in the oven.

Mr.E
Â I'll probably marinade some meat so that she can just stick it in the oven. Is that a euphemism?

Mr.E
Is there anybody here who's in a long term relationship? I'm heading into my 11th year with Mrs.E this time around, and as others have said, you end up with Valentines Day/Wedding anniversary/regular "when we got together" anniversary (if anybody does that one) so Valentines Day just doesn't seem as important. Paid Members Sergio Mendacious Posted February 13, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2017 We're heading for our 8th anniversary, which is a week after Valentine's Day - we're also moving in a couple of weeks, so Valentine's Day is going to be a bunch of flowers, a card, some filet mignon, and some light spooning. Nowt special.

Mine and my O/H's 7th anniversary was two weeks ago. I got her some teddies, flowers and a nice card. She's just asked me to stick a Google Play voucher and a Nintendo eShop voucher in her card for tomorrow and bought me an Amiibo. Who says romance is dead, eh?
