martinQblank Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Thinking about the What Culture promotion which is essentially the promoters just putting themselves over - what are the most shameless and not very good attempts by promoters to make them the stars of the show . Can include bookers. Â Vince and Eric largely are excluded as most of what they have done has been pretty great - ones that immediately spring to mind are Vince Russo - WCW champion, anything involving Alex Shane and Pete Staniforth front n centre on his posters
Keith Houchen Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 I'm sure you didn't have Adam Bowler in mind when creating this thread.
martinQblank Posted July 5, 2016 Author Posted July 5, 2016 Correct me if I'm wrong but Bowler does nothing on his shows to put himself over
The Dart Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Alex Shane? Was rarely the focal point of shows he was running. And when he was he deserved to be. Â Are all the What Culture morons actually the promoters, or are they just featured 'talent' to accompany the name brand?
neil is brill Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Peter Staniforth wins this thread by a mile. Features himself in some way in every match he books and ALWAYS books himself or his charges to come out on top.

Mr.E Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 I know of many a promoter, (in the UK), who have ran their own promotion essentially to push themselves as champion. Many wrestlers run promotions in the UK and keep themselves away from the top spot, (if wrestle at all), but I've met many promoter who are the booker/champion (normally multiple times as well) and push themselves as "local town hero" as well.
LWOLeN Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 In the last few years Alex Shane has gone above and beyond to put British talent over on tv and youtube with his shows and commentary.

stevieg1980 Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Â Bless him.... It's now saying it's not available. Could he have took it down himself?
Moderators PowerButchi Posted July 11, 2016 Moderators Posted July 11, 2016 Someone in the pub told him about it.
Paid Members Sir Steve Redgrave Posted July 11, 2016 Paid Members Posted July 11, 2016 Peter Staniforth wins this thread by a mile. Features himself in some way in every match he books and ALWAYS books himself or his charges to come out on top. Thought he had finally disappeared until I saw his mug on a poster in my local last night.
