Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted April 8, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted April 8, 2018 Call the police because Jack Miller was robbed. MotoGP ignoring its own start procedure rules cost Miller that race. As for Marquez, @Harry Wiseau Is right. Could have been black flagged at least twice. Rossi's team telling him to fuck off when he tried to go and apologise made Neil Warnock look like a saint the other night. The look in Lin Jarvis's eye as he came into the garage would have killed an elephant. That really was Moto2 Marquez today.
Paid Members BigJag Posted April 9, 2018 Author Paid Members Share Posted April 9, 2018 (edited) Indy Car had the Phoenix GP yesterday. Very surprised to see empty grandstands. Makes you wonder how they're able to run the events. They're showing the race on BT Sport/ESPN HD. Scary moment during WRC this past weekend. An incorrectly called pace note. Caused the Citroen driven bye Kris Meeke to fly off the road. He and his co-driver were lucky that the car flew flat and landed on its wheels. It could have been a lot worse. Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted April 17, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted April 17, 2018 So the F1 at the weekend was pretty exciting. Danny Ric was tremendous and Verstappen was an idiot. The way the whole race panned out with the Safety Car should have ensured a Red Bull 1-2. Because Max gets over committed to moves that are not on he costs them points. Danny Ric is driving himself into the Mercedes for next year. Unless Bottas can really start to pull his finger out he is in trouble.  This weekend is MotoGP at COTA which is a great track. Crutchlow as the first Brit since Barry Sheene to lead the 500/MotoGP championship is incredible, but even more incredible is the fact that 53 year old, 1993 500cc World Champion Kevin Schwantz is riding as a wild card in Moto2. It's roughly the equivalent of when the Brazilian footballer Socrates turned out for Garforth Town when he was 50. Except instead of Garforth he played for Aston Villa. That's what Schwantz is doing this weekend.

Paid Members waters44 Posted April 17, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted April 17, 2018 (edited) I understand what you’re saying about Max but the Red Bull higher ups know that he is the future. Danny Ric is great - one of the best overtakers in the sport, but the reality is there is not one team on the grid who would pick him over Max. Max made some big mistakes on Sunday, but don’t forget Danny Ric nearly fucked it when overtaking Bottas. Danny knows deep down he’s the number two driver which is why he won’t resign with Red Bull - he will probably replace Kimi at Ferrari.  EDIT - if you want to see something special try and track down a documentary called The Unrideables - lots of amazing footage of Schwantz and other early 90s riders Edited April 17, 2018 by waters44

Paid Members BigJag Posted April 17, 2018 Author Paid Members Share Posted April 17, 2018 (edited) Redbulls pit work was pretty epic. Double pitstops twice in one race was quite an impressive sight. The NASCAR race at the weekend had to be postponed until Monday due to rain. It turned out to be a fun race at the Bristol Oval with lots of paint being swapped on the tight bowl. The short nature of the track allowed for close racing and plenty of action. There was also WRX and Indycar this past weekend. Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted April 30, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted April 30, 2018 Well the F1 at the weekend was insane. Roughly the F1 equivalent of The Grand National, more twists and turns than a Vince Russo booked episode of Nitro. Danny Ric turning on his own partner and taking him out was pure Russo, as was Grosjean dumping his car into the wall and trying to blame Ericcson. Vettel and his massive attempted overtake that lead to his downfall was the equivalent of Goldberg spearing Russo out of the cage and to complete this Russo-F1 analogy we had Bottas taking himself out with the puncture, an act of accidental sabotage Vinny Ru would have been proud of, and that barely describes 1 tenth of the action. Alonso finishing where he did after that early double puncture was remarkable. Can we race in Baku every time.
Paid Members BigJag Posted May 1, 2018 Author Paid Members Share Posted May 1, 2018 Baku is a visual feast. That run through the medieval section is very impressive. A good portion of the top guys did seem to lose their minds. Made for a dramatic race. Giving us a rare opportunity to see cars actually jostling for position on track.

Paid Members BigJag Posted May 3, 2018 Author Paid Members Share Posted May 3, 2018 (edited) Lots of Rally action this past weekend. WRC was in Argentina. Fog catching out a number of drivers.  FIA World Rallycross was in Montalegre, Portugal. Where they had all sorts of weather conditions. Including snow!  The Global Rally Cross series has cancelled its events for 2018. They'd been under financial difficulties for a while and losing the main manufacturer teams before the start of this season, clearly didn't help their predicament. They were initially quite an exciting series and certainly had a certain level of presentation that the FiA WRX series lacks. GRC largely fed off of the X Games fan base and definitely had an X Games flavour to it. With a number of the drivers being X Games competitors in various disciplines. This may help to strengthen the FIA WRX series with some of the former GRC teams looking to enter that series. Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted May 7, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted May 7, 2018 MotoGP and Moto3 were crazy races again yesterday. The Moto3 was as usual a compelling race. Until about 7 laps to go 3 seconds covered 19 riders but Aron Canet (Mentioned earlier as a lunatic) got into a corner far too quickly and took 3 other riders and himself out.  Then in the GP a similar situation, but more of a racing incident where 2nd, 3rd, and 4th took each other out of what was shaping up to be a fantastic finish to what had already been an exciting race. Watch them on catch up if you can.
Paid Members BigJag Posted May 10, 2018 Author Paid Members Share Posted May 10, 2018 Just caught the Moto GP. That accident towards the end was scary. How'd the guy cutting in think he could make that? There was some fantastic videography of Marquez leaning into the corners and lightly dragging his elbow along the corner rumble strips. Alonso raced in WEC over the weekend. 6hrs at Spa for Toyota.

They then both tried to pull it back down to the racing line. Pedrosa came from a long way back and hit the apex beautifully. Unfortunately Dovi and Lorenzo didn't see him as they were really concentrating on each other, and that's why they ended up in the gravel. Pedrosa high-sided again, landing on his arm that was only operated on 4 weeks ago and is still held together by screws and a metal plate. That must hurt like fuck.
Paid Members BigJag Posted May 10, 2018 Author Paid Members Share Posted May 10, 2018 Yeah Pedroza was cut across. it would have been a great move if he'd been allowed to complete it. Marquez dancing on the spill over gravel, exhibited some incredible bike control.
