It seems he lost the brakes. It swapped ends quite abruptly.

This guy was having loads of fun.

Indy 500 quali is next weekend. With the race set for May 29th. They had a rain affected race around the Indianapolis GP circuit this weekend. The teams are essentially hanging around for three weeks at Indianapolis. We'll be seeing some practice from Tuesday.  Romain Grosjean is going to be taking part this year. He'd previously sat out oval races in 2021 due to the incredibly high speeds. He's gained a bit of a reputation for being a bit aggressive.

What a grand prix that was. Gutted for George Russell not being allowed to restart because of his stopping to try and check on Zhou Ganyou after the start, but the whole race was most interesting, and those last 10 laps? Spectacular.

Even more impressive is that Zhou managed to walk away from this and was still in the paddock with the other drivers after the race. Alex Albon was taken to the hospital though.

Here's some fan footage from first corner incident at Silverstone today.

The eco guys chose the red flag period to make an on track protest. Not sure if that did their cause any favours.

It's been a bumper few weeks of motor racing over the past month.

The Safari Rally was last week.

Le Mans

Goodwood Festival of Speed

Just look at this insane vehicle.

Currently Mid Ohio is hosting Indycar on ther Road race /non-oval track. Its like a roller coaster. Stark difference to the flat looking tracks we see F1 run on. It's been eventful so far.

Modern F1 circuits are all pretty much the same components arranged slightly differently. This part of the season with the more traditional circuits could make for some interesting races.

I dread to think what may have happened if they'd managed to get on track during full race pace. The authorities knew that a protest of this type was planned. I'm surprised that the protesters were able to get on the track.

NASCAR race on now. Again it's a non oval race. It's a bit mad seeing these cars pound around Road America. They're so big!

Aye. During a drifting event at Silverstone a few years ago. We were able to get past the first set of fencing, giving us a better view. Security came around and made us move back into the stands fairly quickly though. Later on we were allowed to actually walk onto the track and go into the pit area. Getting a close up look at the cars and mingle with the teams and drivers.

Much different to the GP I attended in 2003. There was very little chance of getting past any fencing that day. Then this happened.

I really need to attend another British GP. Incredible experience. Just the drive in on race day is brilliant. The sky was full of helicopters ferrying people back and forth. All manner of dream cars shuffling along the access roads. Fantastic day.

I don't think the red flag impacted their choice.  The red flag due to the crash actually dented their protest as they then weren't shown as the race was stopped regardless.

We were a few feet away from where they got onto the track. They waited until the majority had went by them (the red flag had already been called) before coming onto the track and sat down covering about half of the tarmac.

Even without the incident at the start, a red flag would’ve been called and word would’ve gotten to the drivers to slow down and keep to the right of the track. Took over 15minutes once the police arrived to take them away, and there was another incident off the track that took a long time to clear too.

Still haven’t got a clue how they actually got onto the track though. They didn’t seem scale the fence, the drop from the bridge would’ve been too much of a drop, they just seemed to appear from nowhere. Saying that, three stewards covering such a large area provides ample opportunity. One of them was the guy who tied himself to the goalpost at Everton the other week

They're on about having a Grand Prix at Road America, aren't they?

Hmmm. Not sure about Road America. I believe they've locked in a street race at Vegas.

Sooo much quality motor racing out there.

Peugeot are debuting their new LEMans car at the Monza 6hrs today, Sunday 10th July 2022.
