Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted June 7, 2023 Paid Members Posted June 7, 2023 I tried to crop him out but as always, Hogan must pose. When I leave the room he'll probably look up to the Heavens in disbelief and finally hand the belt over to the Koala. What a prick. Quote
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted June 9, 2023 Moderators Posted June 9, 2023 You inspired me to do some rock painting with my son this morning. It was really fun. (mine on the right, obv) Quote
Paid Members Monkee Posted February 5, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 5, 2025 So, where do I stand if an organisation has created a poster that bears a striking similarity to a series of designs I created in 2020? Quote
Paid Members Surf Digby Posted February 5, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 5, 2025 How similar is similar? Close enough that you demonstrate that elements have been directly copied? Quote

I did other posters in a same style featuring two of the aircraft also featured in the design on the left. My mum actually thought it was my design on the left when I showed it to her out of context. Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted February 5, 2025 Moderators Posted February 5, 2025 Not being funny but I think you'll have a hard time arguing 'illustrated pictures of an aeroplane' to advertise an air show. It's not a straight rip-off. They might have been inspired by your design or it might just be a coincidence, but I don't think you'll ever know and they don't seem similar enough for it to be obvious. Fwiw I prefer your design as there's just way too many planes in the other one. Quote
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted February 5, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 5, 2025 Yeah, I really don't think there's a problem there at all. There's only so many ways to illustrate a Spitfire (or whatever) in the air. Google the words Spitfire + poster, or anything along those lines and you'll see pages of similar images. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted February 5, 2025 Posted February 5, 2025 Yeah to be fair they're both exactly how I'd expect posters for that to look like. The left one is too busy though. If they were using the exact planes and designs etc then fair enough but I wouldn't have considered them similar if no one had mentioned it. Quote
Paid Members Surf Digby Posted February 6, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 6, 2025 I can see the similarities, but once you take away the cutout effect, the planes are from the angle of a hundred commemorative plates, and the parts that are distinctively yours (like the broken circle of the propeller, suggesting it's a MkVI or MkVII) aren't on theirs. I wouldn't fancy your chances. Quote
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted February 6, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 6, 2025 Some of the stencil art I've made for the house. Quote
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted February 6, 2025 Moderators Posted February 6, 2025 I like the one of Ant & Dec. Quote
