I got a Zoom and a Wavestate after Christmas because I was a bit bummed out around Christmas not really knowing anyone up here (all changing fast now since things have reopened) so had it in my head to spend Saturday mornings getting field recordings of the place and turning my walks into kind of audio diaries. This is the result: Way more satisfying than the dodgy four to the floor stuff I used to amuse myself with. Fuck all sequencing going on, really, other than the custom patches on the Wavestate itself. Just having fun playing around with sounds etc. The drums are nicked off The Cure's Faith album. The whole thing comes off as a bit of a cheesy travelogue/80s soap theme toward the end which was entirely unexpected but immensely pleasing to me! Quote

The track in the above post is pretty much the anchor/lynchpin for it in terms of sound so if you like that one perhaps give it a whirl or chuck us a follow if you're on Bandcamp! It's probably rough around the edges but I reached one of those crescendos where I just wanted to draw a line under the sound/project and move on to something else from my humble bedroom studio. The opening and closing tracks are more heavy on found/field/background sounds etc but in between it's very...I don't know...wavey. It's not a pure ambient record but I think it's very derivative of the Wavestate so it's pretty much an ode to that particular synth as the title suggests. Quote

Good mate Joe who goes by Pale World put me on in the middle of a lineup lead by Dutch noise artist Svartvit, I was far too self conscious and held back too much but I made a nice racket out there, limiting myself to a short set was a good idea though and I can definitely work on stuff easier that way. A hip-hop artist I know from Gloucester has offered to set up a gig with me so I'm looking forward to that, gonna get Joe on there too as he loves playing weird towns that have zero noise scene. I bought Kontakt 4 a long time ago, when it was still a stack of DVDs that you spent hours installing to your drive. Wondering if it’s worth upgrading to Kontakt 8 before they disappear (I’m still eligible for a loyalty discount from my purchase 15 years ago or whenever it was). Is it still just a bunch of wavs that get dumped on your drive visible as VSTs to your DAW software of choice? Quote

It’s still great but most DAWs come with their own version these day which are usually equally as good. The only real upside to Kontakt I see is for downloading sample libraries with pre-mapped controls. if you’re wanting to download sample libraries then Kontakt is still worth it - purely for the ease. But if you’re making your own, then the sampler that comes with your DAW will be equally as good. Quote

I just released a song featuring Wrestle and Flow / ex WWE Josiah Williams , as well as Monteasy (currently on Swerves new theme) plus Mega Ran (new New Day theme) and Bliz (done themes for AEW/TNA/Mia Yims) Pretty wild little ol me managed to get all these on a song but my God it's a so hard to get seen with the algorithms and socials the way they are. So you probably won't even remember this but back when Smackdown vs Raw 2007 (I think it was!)came out, you made a comment about one of the songs (Riot by Three Days Grace). You said it sounded like "Mr Ryan" . Actually one of my favorite bands, I got to see them twice this year. Yes they played Riot. And Yes I still sing Mr Ryan when the song comes on.
