Paid Members Gus Mears Posted August 1, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted August 1, 2017 West Indies test party announced. The big news being KEMAR ROACH, who I thought had retired, being back in. It really is an unbelievably poor test team, so naturally I expect England to win the series 2-1 after losing the second games by an innings. Jason Holder (capt), Kraigg Braithwaite (vice-capt), Devendra Bishoo, Jermaine Blackwood, Roston Chase, Miguel Cummins, Shane Dowrich, Shannon Gabriel, Shimron Hetmyer, Kyle Hope, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Kieran Powell, Raymon Reifer, Kemar Roach In: Kemar Roach, Ramon Reifer, Kyle Hope Out: Vishaul Singh  Also, a top Cricinfo comment. Come on West Indies Fans! As to who should be selected, we are forgetting one thing "We have a pool of cricketing SARDINES and expect the Selectors to dive into that same pool and pick a cricketing GREAT WHITE"
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted August 1, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted August 1, 2017 How high in the batting order does Raymon Reifer get?
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted August 1, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted August 1, 2017 With his mighty batting average of 25 in domestic cricket, I would expect him to come in below Holder. I want him to get a ton just so a red top can use the headline "Reifer Madness".
The Curious Orange
Eighth would be appropriate in both senses for him.
Paid Members gadge Posted August 4, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted August 4, 2017 Probably the best thing about today's play in the Test match was that the over rate wasn't so slow and they got 90 overs in. Not much to be excited about otherwise.
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted August 4, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted August 4, 2017 Proper Test cricket you big jessie! Some of the bowling today was fantastic. If we'd still had Ballance at 3 we would have been 2 down in no time. Morkel's opening spell was a thing of beauty. The ball Rabada bowled to get Stokes was a cracker. I'm not sure Malan looks like a test player to be honest, but Westley looks like he has potential. Not a flamboyant days cricket I'll grant you gadge, but an engaging one.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted August 4, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted August 4, 2017 Agreed, that was a fantastic battle. Really even between bat and ball, all runs to be grafted for but the bowlers still having to bowl well to get wickets. Another superb surface as well, all four pitches in this series have been beauties, not a road among them.
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted August 6, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted August 6, 2017 Â I marked the hell out after seeing this. Also worth stating what a quality knock Bairstow had yesterday. Very enjoyable to watch and unfortunate to be given out when a mile down the pitch.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted August 6, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted August 6, 2017 Shaun Pollock and Shane Warne have been dropping wrestling references on commentary as well, Warney dropped a George The Animal Steele comment today. Moderators PowerButchi Posted August 7, 2017 Moderators Share Posted August 7, 2017 As much as I love Shane Warne the cricketer (twice the player of Murali, didn't chuck), I hate him on commentary. He's too eager to settle old scores all the time (See: Waugh, Steve), and not in the brilliant Bob Willis fashion.
Moderators PowerButchi Posted August 7, 2017 Moderators Share Posted August 7, 2017 Also I think I am in love with Moeen Ali.
Paid Members Nexus Posted August 7, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted August 7, 2017 Moeen Ali is an absolute superstar. I swear before his 50 the crowd were singing 'Woah Moeen Ali why don't you hit us a six' or something to that effect and he obliged by absolutely leathering one over the boundary.  Jennings surely can't play against the Windies? How long do you also give Westley and Malan?
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted August 10, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted August 10, 2017 You were correct Nexus, Jennings can't play against the Windies as he is dropped. Stoneman gets his chance. Dawson dropped as 2ND spinner as well. Mason Crane gets the nod.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted August 10, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted August 10, 2017 And Woakes back too. That is much more like it. Wonder if they will go back to 6 bowlers and give Crane a shot. Looks like they see Rashid as a limited overs specialist now.
