I'm currently backing up all my old RAW episodes and I've just found out that the Pillman/Austin 'Gun incident' episode is an edited version. I really want the proper, unedited original episode. There are various comps of the Pillman scenes on youtube but really the full episode would be much better.

Can anyone help?

Do you know of somewhere that this might be streamed (and I can then grab it) or does anyone have it and could they stick it on megaupload or something?

Any help would be much appreciated.

The episode is November 4, 1996.

PM'd you the link mate as i don't want to incur the wrath of neil

Do you still have the link? Wouldn't mind a butchers myself.

Cheers.

Diesel wasn't a nobody. As you say, his Rumble and Survivor Series contributions were excellent. He had been presented as being inferior to Razor Ramon though, I felt, which made him a slightly odd choice for champ.

Not sure about the reasons for taking the title off Bret other than to freshen up the top of the card and because they felt tha Nash had something. If drawing poorly against Neidhart was the problem, the solution was obvious. Stop booking Jim fucking Neidhart in world title matches.

I hated the Backlund angle at the time being a big Bret Hart fan. I still do to be honest but I can see the need for it.

Sorry to drag this back up but feel I need to defend myself slightly.

Maybe nobody wasn't quite the correct word, but my point was he was nowhere near the world title picture, from a storyline point of view.

Yes, he'd been painted as a monster in the Rumble, and had the World title match with Bret at the King of the Ring (which I always thought came out of nowhere and never expected him to win) but he was a pawn to improve Shawn Michaels character and, as you quite rightly say, he was being presented as inferior to Razor Ramon.

The storyline reason for him even getting the title match was that he was the only wrestler without a contracted match on the night as his tag team with HBK had dissolved, surely the strangest reason ever for someone to get a world title shot? "Oh, Diesel, Bret's still injured from the Survivor Series, being as you're not doing anything tonight will you wrestle Bob for the World Title. Shawn can do it tomorrow night, Fatu the night after and that bloke that used to be The Barbarian on Tuesday, ok?"

Maybe it was just my perception of Diesel at the time which meant I was so surprised at the title win, but he certainly wasn't the Kevin Fuckin' Nash that he was to become.

On DSF we could receive them, and I think a Starrcade may have been available for a fiver on cable over here in about 1989/1990. I could swear I read that somewhere. Might even have been in a Lister article.

To right we could. DSF's coverage of Monday Nitro in 1995-98 was better than ours. They had the full 2/3 hours worth as well as PPVs, classic matches and Saturday Night. If you werent a fan of Schaivone, Tenay and Heenan, then DSF was the place to be in the 90s. I miss DSF. I still think if I pulled my old Sky Box from the loft, it might have Halloween Havoc 97 playing tonight. But thats just a dream :(

Not to mention DSF showing SMW and a decade old WCCW seemingly at random.

I saw a match with the Ultimate Warrior wearing long pants in some small-hall show on DSF around 1995/96. It was class. They even had a pannel show which I have on a tape somewhere around the house. It was two Germans sitting at a table running down the top 10 matches of something I couldnt understand. Luger vs Flair topped the countdown in the ThunderDome Cage. Bagwell and Scorpio winning the WCW tag belts came second. It was a weird countdown. I dont know what the subject of the countdown could have been.

Was that "World Of Wrestling"? I could never understand what they were talking about, but they'd often have countdowns on it.

It was presented by Carsten Schafer and the TNM7 bloke if I remember correctly.

Thats it. You knew it was time for the dirty phonecall adverts to finish, when some German bloke popped up on the screen and went "WOW". As in "World of Wrestling". Not "WOW" as in, "did you see her mot?" Alex Wright used to be a roving reporter on DSF as well.

Ah, great days.

Great days indeed. I remember watching a documentary/news type thing about wrestling on DSF. I have't a clue what it was called or anything, but it featured Mike Awesome (then in FMW) explaining the difference between Japanese and American wrestling styles.

Sky and Virgin are great and everything, but I do miss the foreign channels like that one that would just show a burning fireplace all night. That and the pornography, of course, far superior to Babestation.

Bugger, I don't remember that at all. I just remember the commentator one night doing a bit of commentary in English one night and saying hello to all the British viewers. Good days.
