They only seem to be showing the season premier. Which was, what: 5 or 6 episodes? Disney XD just keep showing those episodes. It's a pain seeing as it's the closest a super hero cartoon has gotten to the sheer majesty of justice league unlimited

Disney XD havevstarted showing new episodes.

Cheers for that. They're on saturday and sundays. But not always in order. But fuck it, I'd rather watch Regular Show.

But seeing as it just came out on trade and is gonna be a film. Who's read Mark Millar's Nemesis?

For a short series, I really enjoyed it. Made a nice change from the usual tortured anti-heroes of late

This week the regular (Mon-Wed) shows seem to be the new series.

How do people feel with the news that DC are doing a total re-boot of everything. Every comic will be going back to Number 1. And the big re-entry into the DC Universe of Swamp Thing and John Constantine.

I love that John Constantine is back in the DC Universe.

I thought Swamp thing had already been reintroduced? Isn't he the White Lantern?

I think the most interesting thing about this relaunch, is as a part of it DC are releasing digital comics at the same time as they are released in print, and will be very interesting to see how this effects the overall business. In the long run it won't be good, but we will see.

As for the all the stories being relaunched, I think it can work. I know Marvel had some great success with the Ultimate range (i.e. resetting all the stories so new reader can just jump on board). After all the DC universe was getting utterley confusing and clusterfuckery with all the alternate universe characters running around.

I mean when you have multiple version of the Green Lantern and the Flash from different eras coexisting, and alternate universe versions of Superman all swanning around at the same time, its too much for someone to understand.

I think the big reset it needed. One Superman, one Green Lantern (or Green Lantern corp) etc will help massively.

Dunno if its been mentioned anywhere else by Gene Colan died yesterday. Guy is a legend in comic art. was one of the first guys that Marvel let work in their own style while everyone was being told to draw in a Jack Kirby / Steve Ditko style and had some amazing runs with Daredevil, Captain America, Batman and Dracula. Amazing artist, will be sorely missed

Anyone been reading Crossed: Psychopath? I think yer man Lapham's outdone what Ennis did in the first series. The most recent issue was pretty rank. I bought Crossed 3D today as well, not read it yet. First comic I've bought in ages, I've almost completely taken to Internet-nicking for them now. I've been reading the entire run of Lucifer over the past couple of weeks, I'm on the last few issues now. Tried reading it years ago, just after I'd read Sandman, and didn't get into it (I think I've posted about that here before). Really enjoying it though.

Has anyone here bought the Preacher hardcovers? Is there any bonus content in them compared to the original TPBs?

I like it if it means DC comics are no longer just continuity porn for nerds. I wouldn't even hazard an attempt at reading one of the main DC comics -- partly because I don't much like superheroes, but I don't mind Invincible and I quite enjoyed Ultimate Spider-Man for a while. It's mostly because none of the main DC comics make any sense unless you've read a million previous issues of eighty different titles. I find them all pretty impenetrable, or at least more impenetrable than the quality is worth.

Perhaps coming up with some new characters would be a better way to move comics forward? It seems insane to me that the industry has become so backward-looking.

They do regularly come up with new characters, but most of them don't succeed.

Have you seen the majority of the failed new characters walking around the DC universe? Outside of Batman, Superman, Wonder Women, Green Lantern, Flash, and at a pinch Aqua Man, you have the biggest list of failed Z list characters in the world.

Marvel have a bit more success, but considering how little money there tend to be in comics, its no wonder they rely on the old favorites.

Sounds like an interesting concept, some DC comics are good but my biggest problem in this time of recession is there big stories require you to buy 6 different books. I've said before I waited to buy the hardcover Blackest Night book and was well pissed when I read one chapter and there was a page saying 'Meanwhile, Sinestro anally raped Kilowog and other vital plot twists occurred not in this book'. If they produced more books like Identity Crisis which are quite self contained or with Marvel when they did Siege, have one book telling the whole story and then branch off with other versions of your favs, I would be more inclined to read more DC, but they don't.

Yeah that Sinestro anal raping scene was brutal. It's amazing what you can do with a giant yellow power ring these days. Poor Kilowog.

Oddly enough I've not read THE Blackest Night graphic novel yet, but have downloaded and read Green Lantern: Blackest Night. And just like you its bloody annoying only getting half the story.

In mine theres been a few key battles... and then the heros turn round and "oh hay... the battles been won... awesome".

Why they couldn't just have a 12 part core central series is beyond me.

What's the quality like? Is it the same as their normal hardback stuff?

Ummm, I don't wanna sound dumb, but do you mean quality of the story or the physical books? Not having read many comics before i'm not the best one to answer, but the book itself seemed to be good quality (not cheap copy anyway).
