Its MBE's so who really cares about if its too early for them or not, as most people dont give a shit either way about them. Littler sort of makes sense, but Humphries getting it does seem a little strange, but again, who really cares.

Matchplay soon, too, which is always fun to look foward to, As it stands, Barney is qualifying by the skin of his teeth, and Michael Smith isnt, which would be a shocker.

Also interesting that Aspinal is defending £200k of money at this event. Even if he gets to the final, he will still go from 6th in the rankings to outside the top 16, which is crazy when you think of it. A bad showing gets him all the way down to 24th and not far off the top 32 cut off. Mental.

Provisionally would still a seeded player for the world championships though, dependent on others below him. Next major after the Matchplay is the Grand Prix and he’s only qualified for that on the pro tour order of merit. Big year for him.

Disappointed with the booking at PC19, not interested in a Williams-Wade final at all. Rod Studd was wanking himself silly over Williams in the semi final, a huge fall from grace after he managed to shoehorn a reference to “Wesselmania” earlier in the day.

Sorry for the double post. We drove down to House of Darts in Bexhill today. The guy there was brilliant. I tried about 5 sets of darts, he was very accommodating. You’d think I’d have been sold when I hit three treble 1’s in a single turn (yes @TheBurningRed it happened again, IN PUBLIC), but I felt obliged to try some others first, but eventually I had to go back. They’re 21g Harrows Revere, and they feel beautiful. Then we went for lunch and then sat on the beach. A great day.

Any predications for the Matchplay? Littler at 2/1 is unbackable, and dont really like the look of Humphries at 4/1 either.

Price has looked phenominal lately, so 8/1 to win, 5/1 to get to the final looks pretty good value to me.

What outsiders/personal favourates do we like the look of in the "Reach The Final" market?

https://www.oddschecker.com/darts/world-matchplay/to-reach-the-final

Three for me:

Josh Rock - 8/1

Martin Schindler - 25/1

Dirk van Duijvenbode 25/1

Those are three are good picks for getting to the final. I’d throw Cameron Menzies in there and even Gary Anderson who’s been in great form this year.

Price vs Gurney is a nightmare match. Can’t they both lose.

Will be watching on catchup from tomorrow, already looking forward to Stuart Pyke talking about anything other than the match currently happening while he’s on commentary. @TheBurningRed why don’t you like Gurney out of interest? My brother also hates him but it’s a very unspecific dislike.

Maybe not.

He’s just a moody prick. Looks like he absolutely hates playing, always miserable, don’t like his throw either. Never been a fan. I’d take him over Price though.

Plenty of seeds fell yesterday afternoon, most Im not really shocked by (Cross, Wright). A bit shocked that Heta though, as hes been in some good form recently.

Scary performance by Littler. Looked amazing. Destoryed poor Searle. Was very impressed with Clayton and Anderson too. Both are carrying on their good form. Gutted for Schindler, as he was playing some good stuff, but just not good enough. Clayton in those first few legs was crazy, too, and Andersons doubling was superb too. Good win for Bunting too.

Decent performances from Price and Rock, with a bit of afters between Price and Gurney post match. Gurney was playing a few mind games by the looks of it, and sort of mocked Price after the game, but it didn't seem like a whole lot. Not seen any comments about what ticked Price off.

MVG looked alright, and Dobey didn't have to do much to win. Nightmare performance from Ricardo.

What time did the Rock game start/finish too? For a weeknight, it seems insane that the third game wasn't even on at 930pm. Not to sound too old man, but why not get the first match on at 7 and cut the faff between games so it finishes at a reasonable time.

Doesnt take much. An extremely thin skinned man.

Can’t remember what time it started but it finished just before 11. Helps that both players play at a good pace. Barney and MVG took a while to get going which didn’t help, but this is not unusual for the Matchplay and its format to be finished around 11. If games had gone all the way to sudden death then it would’ve been a lot later. Which could happen from tonight with the format going longer.

Gurney did a little, what can only be described as, mocking body wobble after checking out a leg. He followed it up with a similar piss take in the next leg. Quite what Price is so insecure about…

Shame that Ross Smith didn’t turn up at the beginning, he showed he’s a class player once he settled down. I liked Part explaining his theory about once the brain accepts the match is gone and stops being involved, the body completely relaxes, only for Mardle to shit his pants and say “No! That’s not a thing!” Plank.

Barney always looks so sad on stage these days.

This is a man who constantly goes on about defensive darts and playing defensive which is not a thing in darts at all.

Barney is tragic. A sad sack of shit. The Foley of darts. He had a cry last year over the fact 17 year old Luke Littler wouldn’t message him back and he was offended that he wouldn’t get advice from “a legend”. It’s because you’re a weirdo mate.
