Look at the rest of the card mate, it's piss poor. Headlining that event is hardly a huge show of faith, it's the fact that he's Irish. I'm surprised they haven't given @Keith Houchen a shout due to his Irish heritage and offered him a slot on the prelims yet.

Haven't you answered your own question? He's headlining a smaller level show in Ireland. It's not like he's headlining one of their big cards in the US.

Personally, based on what I've seen of him on Bellator shows, I find him to be an immensely unlikeable Connor tribute act. Wouldn't mind seeing him get beat at all.

Why should Khabib go up 15lbs though? He's a natural lightweight, so surely 160lbs catchweight is where it should be, no?

Is he? He looks close to death when he weighs in and is a tiramisu away from missing weight at all times.

The Deya was one of the worst, and the Big Drop was too strongly coffee for me.

The Siren and Yeastie Boys ones were best to both mine and my other half.

That's interesting. I really rate Deya ... but then I guess underneath it all it's a Tiny Rebel beer not a Deya beer.

Essentially, Labour is seen as the party of the left (Despite not being so since clause 4 was removed), Anti capitalists hold resentment towards the financial and industrial giants of the world.  In a lot of cases, these people are Jewish, so the secretive cabal who are keeping us down have a Zionist agenda.  It sounds like a right wing conspiracy theory but sadly there are some on the left who think Jews have all the power and look after their own.

That mural that Corbyn defended was a good example of this.  He saw it as a representation of the super capitalists pulling the strings, but the figures in the mural had hook noses and similar nudge nudge wink wink its Jews characteristics.  I wouldn't be surprised if things I have said or phrases that I use can have anti semitic tones, I guess because I'm not on the receiving end of these aggressions, much like I can never know what it's like to be black, I don't see them.  If and when they're pointed out to me (like the time I tweeted how I wouldn't mind if we all spoke German if it stopped the worshipping of Churchill) I listen and learn.  The issue with Labour has been how long it takes them to deal with it.

It's hard for me to follow the anti-semitic stuff, but in my understanding, it stems partially from some fucked up stuff individual Labour representatives at various levels have said, but also partially from that wonderful RW "anti-Israeli sentiment is anti-semitism" deal, also very popular in the USA.

EDIT — also, on a deeper and more intellectual level, what Keith said.

Thanks for that Keith. It's examples like the defending of the mural that I guess I'm specifically asking about. So we have that as an example and as Sergio says, we could add incidents of individual isolated cases of people in the Labour party doing / saying things that could be deemed anti-semetic ... albeit without specific examples talked about here. Does that add up to an anti-semitism issue in the Labour party?

Am I being played here by the Labour party brushing an issue under the carpet as a media smear campaign? Am I being played by the media trying to smear Corbyn and the Labour party? Something doesn't add up and for all I can learn about it, it seems like there just isn't enough to point at a party-wide anti-semitism issue and an anti-semetic party leader.

Is the traditional Labour values to be anti-semetic? Because that is one of the key issues at the moment

(From the other thread because @Devon Malcolm got annoyed.)

Genuine question: in what way is Labour anti-semetic? I know it's the given opinion on the party at the moment but when I've tried to unpick actual facts from media agenda I've always come up blank. I'm not trying to be smart or anything here, I'd just genuinely like to read / watch / listen to something that presents the balanced facts behind this opinion of the party.

(And, yes, I know what I'm asking for raises a bigger question about media in the UK ...)

Tiny Rebel do great stuff. Luckily living quite close to them means we get most of their stuff round here and their core beers are available in most shops. Can't go wrong with them. They did a Home Alone themed beer last year that I can't remember the name of which was lovely.

  7. So if no deal looks unlikely to be accepted, the current deal is dead and Brussels are firmly saying there is no better deal, what's left ...

A general election that would result in either a (likely) weaker Conservative government with a new PM or a Labour government under Jeremy Corbyn, both of which would have no realistic chance of securing a better deal than the one we just saw killed off.

A second referendum is the only thing that makes sense to me. If we go through a second referendum and the result is the same as the first then it at least justifies the months and years of further attempts to work out a deal that'll get the backing of parliament. Surely enough has happened since the first referendum to now justify a second.

  8. Seems like a silly decision for Team Mcgregor. Where does Mcgregor go after a second Khabib loss? The Diaz trilogy and then retirement is surely all that's left.

Thinking about it ... why not. He'll make a fortune out of both of those and can then retire to a young family with his youth, health and a whisky business that'll make him money without the need to get hit in the head.

Several Tory MPs have said they would leave the party if Boris became leader according to the Guardian. Even the Tories hate that self serving mug.

Is it possible for an MP to retain their seat whilst switching parties / leaving a party?

    Any other home brewers here?

Yep. Been home-brewing for about a decade now. Love it.

@Kaz Hayashi Not had that. The issue with Mikkeller I find is that there's not much consistency with what you can get and when you can get it. I was a big fan of their 'Drink'in the sun' which was a similar low ABV beer. Bought 3 or 4 from a specialist bottle shop and never seen it since.

Yeah, I took them down to 2 degrees in the fridge and still it exploded out so hard the flip top was torn off and shot near 4 feet in the air. My mate had one at room temperature and says he opened in the garden and the beer shot to his first floor windows.

Woah. Probably over primed them or an infection got in there and is eating through the unfermentables. Take care with them ... could be nasty.

Well, my stouts finished. I added too much caoco so its a tad bitter. Also its hugely over carbonated and explodes out the bottle when opened.

Still a solid 6/10 for the taste.

If you get it freezing cold (not literally, but as close to that as possible), you might be able to lift the caps slightly to basically vent the bottles. Go over them with the capper, let them warm back up to serving temp and they might pour a little better.

Or not ... just thought it might be of interest.

People at work who treat Halloween as though it's a thing for grown adults. They spend about a week putting up the decorations and then, on the day, you just know exactly which prick is going to come in in full Halloween regalia. And then have a little dig about you "not getting into the spirit of it.' Fuck off, mate. This isn't the US and you aren't a "right laugh."

This applies to British people in general, not just adults. Same goes for Black Friday. Why did we all start pretending that's a thing ... it aint'!

New one, particularly pertinent to myself, typing in the nosebleeds at Wembley right now - 40something or older blokes who shout very concise things at the football. Like, not exasperated involuntary expulsions (this is the only emotion I link to football right now) like "Out!" or "Come on!" or "DAVIES' BALL, FUCK SAKE" but like, considered actual instructions as though the players (manager, ref, assistants) can hear them. There is a bloke sat near me, literally as far from pitchside as Wembley gets ; his back is to the wall. And he's shouting "Can we get a proper referee, please?" and "Two nil's not a winning score, boys!" - nobody can hear you, you utter fuckwit! Who are these men that think their voice carries that far??? Is this for the entertainment of other fans? Am I supposed to nod in agreement as the lummox two rows back bellows "You've got to move it quicker, boys! Don't let them settle on the ball!" at the top of his voice? Mystifying.

I'll chuck in 'Horizon-scan' and 'Let's take this offline' from work, both of which my prick of a boss says.

The word 'chillax', and whichever git taught my children to say it.

Paul Hollywood's handshakes on Bake Off and why my wife has to yelp in excitement whenever he shakes anyone's hand.

"Going forward" and "in terms of" are basically now so over-used at my work that they're on a par with punctuation.

When someone in the office turns to you and says "what are you doing in terms of lunch", shit's gone too far.

That sounds brilliant. I'd love to work in Germany, you can get pissed after work in the week without worrying about a hangover the morning after.

Coming from someone who has drunk heavily on a number of occasions in Germany, this is categorically not true. 😂
