He's very good, especially when he's matched well against someone who's style fits with his.

Could be that our opinion on Conor the person is impacting our opinion on Conor the fighter. He's held 2 UFC titles and is the first person to do that simultaneously. He now has TKO wins across three weight classes. When he beat Aldo, Aldo hadn't lost for 10 years and was in the discussion for P4P #1. He also took Mayweather to 10 rounds. Admittedly in a bit of an exhibition bout, but still. He's done enough to be called better than 'very good' in my opinion.

Huge tax problems? Not really. They may be huge to the average Joe, in the same way the tax issues Messi had in Spain were considered huge. There's been rumours floating around for a while about that, but nothing has ever come of them. If he did have tax issues of the type we've seen mentioned it would have come to a head by now. Those rumours have been around for years

Fair enough. Never really looked into it in any great detail to be honest. I doubt there's smoke without fire though and any level of tax issue doesn't scream smart money many to me.

how the hell do you know that? 😄

Dave, i know you are anti-McGregor but thats a ridiculous thing to say.

I thought we learned ages back he had inside sources. 😉

And that is exactly why he'll never be Floyd Mayweather, no matter how much he wishes he was. He's maybe making some decent coin, but he's nowhere near smart enough to have the right people looking after his affairs.

Doesn't Floyd have huge tax problems?

The reason it stood out to me is that Mcgregor has always seemed obsessed with that sort of thing in the past. To a fault where it motivated him more than training and fighting.

  4. I thought his response to the question about payment was interesting. He ended up on 80 million but he didn't seem sure at all. Almost like he had no idea and not just because he couldn't total up all the money that comes in outside of fight fee. Same thing when he was asked about the length of his fight deal. It was almost like he didn't know.

They both look absolutely incredible lads. I’d absolutely destroy both of them, right up my street. Out of curiosity, would would be your accompanying drink/drinks of choice with said cakes?

That Helwani interview is a bit cringeworthy in my opinion. I used to like Helwani, but over the years he's looked more & more like a bit of a snivelling rat. The type who'll do anything to get ahead and get the scoop. He's basically half the MMA journalist that the likes of Okamoto and Thomas is.

As far as this fight goes, I wonder if we'll see everyone proclaim that "Conor is back!" if and when he beats a man who's lost two on the bounce?

I know what you mean. To be fair to him, he did at least press him on the 'open' claims against Mcgregor and he did push the point about a Pacquiao fight.

  7. Watched the McGregor film last night. It tells his story from turning pro up to Diaz 2. It's easy to forget what a likeable, inspirational character he was in those early days. I'm sure the film is edited to give this impression but it really comes across that he was a family man only interested in his tight, close circle. His relationship with Dee is a constant throughout the film and it's really touching at times to see how close they are.

    How times change, huh.

Not the fish. Jesus, not the fish. It's bad enough putting it on the chips, but meaty gravy on the fish!?!?

  9. I must've heard Corbyn give the party position on Brexit about 100 times. Even to the point that Johnson repeatedly used it against him - "how can you have a leader that won't pick a side" etc.

I'm not sure how he could've made it any clearer. It's was clear enough for all the leave voters that defected to the Tories.

I also think Joey from Friends followed a similar pattern in the latter seasons he is just too stupid to be believable at times which is nothing like he was previously where he was a lot smarter then he later was portrayed as being.

Think you could extend it to all of the characters in Friends, personally. Over time they all become more and more one-dimensional and caricatures of themselves.

Labour didn't have a fucking clue what they wanted to do about Brexit, while the Conservative's did. It's as simple as that.

Really? I think they knew exactly what the score was. If they backed leave then they isolated voters in the seats they managed to hold on to. If they backed remain then, as the election clearly showed, leave voting seats would defect to the Tories. They were fucked either way. In my opinion they did the only thing that gave them a slim chance of success - sat on the fence and tried to isolate as few people as possible. Turned out that slim chance really was very slim indeed.

How does this compare over time? Is it true to say that young people always vote on the left and then over time become Tories? If you took this snapshot in 1970 would you've seen the same thing? Have those 18 year olds in 1970 voting for left parties now migrated into the 49% and 62% blue bars for 55-64 and 65+ year olds?

Is it a matter of time until we have a socialist government of is this picture just the order of things and no real reflection of what's like to happen in 20, 30, 40 years?

    Fuck this bullshit.

They interviewed three Labour-turned-Tory voters, and two of them's logic was mind-boggling: they went blue because they don't like Corbyn. If you're so intent on voting against someone, that doesn't mean you fucking vote for the diametric opposite, you fucking cretins. Plenty of non-shitty Tory options they could've voted for.

Wretches. They deserve everything they get.

"And why don't you like Corbyn"

    He's too old

    He's a Marxist

    He hates Jews.

In reality it's because you're a moron who believes what The Daily Mail tells you to believe.

  14. I'm feeling now like a one issue election has ended up indirectly costing us the chance of a socialist government any time soon.

Has Cameron accidentally played a blinder here? Chances of a labour government any time soon is surely lower than it's been for years.

So unfortunately Brexit is unstoppable. At least we will be a low tax, low regulation and open immigration country under Boris. I wanted a hung parliament, but that aside this is the best result. Boris's majority means he doesn't have to pander to the extremes of his party and the size of Labours defeat means they will hopefully realise that Socialism is dead and revert to New Labour and become a credible opposition again.

Yeah, fuck off mate, nobody likes a bad winner.

  16. Well if you look at the results from 2017 it says to me that you're best off voting Labour to keep the Tories out:

Edit: But then the 326 poll that @JNLister posted before seems to suggest that isn't the case, with the prediction being:

    Conservative: 53.9%

    Lib Dem: 22.4%

    Labour: 19.9%

I"m politics idiot. All I really know is I hate racists and Tories (not mutually exclusive) is there any reason not to vot Lib Dem tomorrow? My understanding is that Labour can't win here but Lib Dem can.

    What's your constituency?
